didn't you guys get delayed last night also? In Florida, it literally almost rains every afternoon/evening in the summer....but 20 minutes later it is dry and you would never know it rained, except for the miserable rise in humidity. When I first moved to Florida as a 16 year old, we were practicing football in August, and it was hot a hell. The sky opened up and it began to rain....I was very thankful, and my new teammates began to warn me what comes next. Within 2 minutes after it quit raining, visual steam began to rise from the ground and it was 3x as miserable as it was before it rained. |

Isn't Francisco Mejia a top catching prospect? |
I don't follow the Pads that closely but he is up with the big club and slashing .200/.258/.336/.595. |
Yeah, he's played 69 total career games. I doubt they're ready to give up on him.
He was a top 24 prospect when they acquired him last year.

The Indians acquired All-Star lefthander Brad Hand and rookie righthander Adam Cimber from the Padres on Thursday morning. In exchange the Padres received catcher/outfielder Francisco Mejia, the top prospect in the Indians system and the No. 24 overall prospect in the game. |

Urias is just so dominant right now.
Last 21.1 ip, 0 ER, 5 hits
He came back strong after that altercation he had with his gf.
His ERA went from 3.78 to 2.30 |

Yeah, I don't see them giving up on Mejia that quickly. He was the big piece they got for Brad Hand. Of course, that doesn't mean that they couldn't have interest in Ruiz, although you'd think that they might place a preference on pitching. |

Of course it will be the Pads who will determine who, if anyone, they want. There are a lot of options, such as substituting Dustin May for Ruiz or including using a third team, but Yates is the guy I want. If they demand two of top prospects though, as does Pitt, their loss. Also, no Lux. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Another error by our infield and Muncy.

At some point, they are going to have to realize that Caleb Ferguson doesn't have it this year. |

And Dylan Floro right behind Ferguson! This is our "we're trying really hard to blow this one" 7th inning pitching move. |

Tie game. Even Bellinger is making errors now. I'll tell ya, for a team 30 games over .500, we've got problems LOL. |

We lost both games due to our 2 biggest weaknesses: Relief pitching and atrocious infield defense |

Anyone seeing a parallel, though not for all the same reasons, to the 2017 team? That team got off an incredible start, on pace to set the record, then, a little further into the season than we are now, went 13-22 over the last 35 games, and missed the promiced land when their two pitching stars did not deliver. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo" |

Yeah, I see some differences to 2017.
In 2017, we had a really strong bullpen. Brandon Morrow n Kenley Jansen were shutting it down.
Tony Watson and Tony Cingrani were huge pickups.
Our offense was weaker. |

Our starting picture is about the same -- our bullpen is in tatters. The top teams in the West and East will eat our bullpen alive. If we don't shore the bullpen/closers we are doomed to copy the Buffalo Bills & Minnesota Vikings |

I don't know how many good/great relievers we need for a WS series run, but right now, we only have 2 really good ones:
Urias and Baez.
Our biggest problem is, we won't demote Jansen. That's our biggest issue. Jansen's going to blow probably 2-3 games in the playoffs. That means, instead of winning 4 games, we might have to win 5 games.
If you look back at our last 12 years, most of our playoff failures can be attributed to our bullpen.
Whether it be: Broxton, Blanton, Baez, Jansen, Madson, McCarthy, and whoever else I can't remember.
Our bullpen's continually failed us in the playoffs. |
