@YESNetwork
D'Angelo Russell sitting in the fourth quarter was a coach's decision, based on the play of others. #NETSonYES |

don't be harsh. a lot of people here still believe he'll turn it around in year 4.
kinda like how people thought Wesley Johnson could still turn it around when the Lakers first got him. |

He worked his butt off this summer and got himself in really good shape. I think he's going to have a good season if he can stay healthy and remains motivated. He's too talented to be counted out in year four. It's more likely than not that he's going to have the best season of his career this year. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. one game? dude has been in the league for enough games to be judged.
but if he finally busts out this year, good for him. he just needs to be better than lavert or dinwiddie though. But dinwiddie has been putting up max effort. |

lol...dude was a Laker for two years and you never saw anything in him? I no longer believe he'll become a superstar, but he can still be a perennial All-Star and a top 10 point guard. Does he hold himself back? Sure. Is his desire to be great questionable? No argument there. But the potential is obvious. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. I was on the DLO bandwagon but I'll admit that he hasn't become the player I thought he would and some of his harsh critics here at LG are being proven right. |

I saw some flashes of what he could be. Those scoring surge were really nice. Ice in my vein moments were cool. But I never really viewed him as someone who would help get us out of lottery hell. Some members here on LG were really high on him like he could be the next big thing for us. If he doesn't get it together in year 4, I don't know how else Russell believers can still maintain that we let go of a potential all-star. |

It was really expected to be that special? I don't really remember. Sure most of the lottery picks have been disappointing. Even the good players in lottery have some flaws.
KAT = At worst, about as good as the average number 1 pick.
DLO = Disappointing
Okafor =
KP = Just needs to stay healthy otherwise solid for a 4th pick
Mudiay = Destined to be a Journeyman
Winslow = Kinda meh
Turner = Solid
Booker might end up as the best player in the draft |

Same dudes.
Dlo = bench player. Won’t get paid and doubt he’s still on the team after the trade deadline. |

Synergy stats taken out of context may label Russell an above average defender, but the basic priorities on defense are stopping the ball and not allowing the ballhandler to create space (everything else will follow).
Russell's no natural at fighting over the top of screens. Most of those clips show the ballhandler slowing down after seeing the second line of defense, then getting blocked/stripped from behind after thinking DLo is out of the play. The block on Tony Allen doesn't happen w/o the shot clock expiring, Allen has to catch and shoot in one motion, no time to pump fake or dribble.
This is why Synergy attaches clips for every stat. |

Dlo got some gravity when he has the ball. Making some nice plays and dropping dimes early on. _________________ Music is my medicine |

I've never been mistaken for a pure hater of Dlo, was a fan when he was here, but it's really starting to look like he may just be an average player. Solid, will always have those flashes of greatness that comes with his unique skillset, but for some reason he just can't put it all together consistently enough to be a star. |

It's a make or miss league and dude needs to shoot efficiently from 3 one day to add plus value. I hope it comes for him, cuz the passing vision is legit and he can be a fun player when he gets his handle working. _________________ Under New Management |

Maybe this year will be the inverse of years 2&3 for him where he starts slow, stays healthy, and has a strong middle and end to the season. Fingers crossed. _________________ Under New Management |

If he can't get there this season, it might just come with another team. With Dinwiddie and Levert on the roster, what's the most you even pay Dlo this summer if you're the Nets, assuming no breakout? |

Hes hit some big shots down the stretch. Still a little sloppy with the ball in a crucial moment with 45 seconds left. _________________ Music is my medicine
