MORE RONDO

Per Ohm (video at link)
Rajon Rondo said the other day that his right hand is stiff and needs a good amount of time to loosen up in the morning. During this pregame warmup he started off slow but had knocked down several 3’s since, perhaps needing some time for the hand to loosen up.

MAS RONDO WITH VIDEO

Per Ohm
Rajon Rondo finished his warmup working on dribbling in a crowd of hands.

Also I can’t quote it since it was on television but Luke said that they were encouraged by the fact that Rondo has been able to take more contact in recent practices.

KUZMA IS HURTING

This probably came up in his thread that I missed it because I had to travel for work. This is not the news that I wanted to hear upon my arrival...

Per Lakers (video at link)
🎥 Kyle Kuzma gives an update on the effects of his nagging hip injury.

KUZ NEWS - HIP IS BUGGING HIM

Per Tania G

From @ba_turner, the Lakers can't afford to lose Kyle Kuzma, but his hip injury has been limiting him.

KUZ QUESTIONABLE - LEBRON OUT

Per Tania G

Kyle Kuzma did not practice today and is questionable. LeBron is out for tomorrow.
https://twitter.com/taniaganguli/status/1089261011083812864?s=21

Or if you prefer the official Lakers tweet

Per Lakers
Kyle Kuzma (hip strain) did not practice today, and is questionable for tomorrow.

LeBron James (groin strain) remains out.

LEBRON DID DO CONTACT PRACTICE, HOWEVER

Per Tania G
LeBron practiced and was a full participant in their defensive drills which are full contact, Luke Walton said. But again he won’t play tomorrow against the Suns.

GOOD LAWEDT JOSH KNEE TOO

He is expected to play but I didn’t even know his knee was still an issue.

Per Tania G
Josh Hart’s knee was bothering him so he didn’t participate in contact today. Luke Walton would expect him to play tomorrow.

LUKE ON KUZ

Per Oram
Walton on Kuzma: “I told him if he’s moving the way he was moving last game I don’t want him playing tomorrow.”
https://twitter.com/billoram/status/1089263054515187712?s=21

Kuz better start putting some Robitussin on that hip because we need players.

THE RETURN OF THE DAILY LONZO

Per Tania G
Lonzo Ball said he’s never broken a bone before but when his injury first happened he thought he’d broken his ankle. He got to stop using crutches yesterday and now just has the boot on.

NO KUZ NO TYSON

Per Trudell
No Kyle Kuzma for Luke and the Lakers tonight, due to the sore hip that limited him last game especially. That’s 3 starters down, including LeBron and Lonzo.
https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1089687543732301824?s=21

Per Tania G
Tyson Chandler won’t play tonight either. Luke Walton says he thinks Chandler needs some rest.

Is it because we play so fast that we're getting so many injuries? I believe Chandler is probably because of our pace. Maybe it's responsible for Kuz's injury, but maybe that's because he always likes to try and run over 4 people. This is the second year in a row Lonzo's gone down with a serious injury though and the first year in a long time Lebron's been seriously injured

This thread is just for injury announcements so I'll make it short...I'm not buying that narrative...maybe discuss this in the Luke thread

NO LEBRON IN PHILLY

Per Oram
LeBron James will be listed as out for Tuesday's game against Philadelphia. Something extraordinary could change that, but he is expected to miss his 17th straight game.

POSITIVITY

Per Tania G
There was a shooting contest happening that involved LeBron, Rondo, KCP, Svi, Brian Shaw and Miles Simon. Lots of laughter, very light hearted. The bigs were having their own shooting contest on another court. The atmosphere at Lakers shootaround is pretty light.

LUKE ON LEBRON

I missed this earlier. Per McTen

Luke Walton on LeBron: "I don’t think he’s going full out yet. Haven’t really seen him drive the lane and tomahawk dunk on anyone but he’s moving, he’s moving well and he’s getting up and down the court & he’s shooting well. He doesn’t look like he’s hurting at all when he moves"

NOTE TO SELF - STAY IN MY OWN THREAD

A bicker-Free zone

Jimmy Butler has miraculously recovered just in time to play the Lakers! Per Trudell
Jimmy Butler missed the last 3 games for Philly, but will play tonight against the Lakers. They rested Joel Embiid in their last game as well, but he’ll play as well.

LEBRON TIDBIT

Per Oram (I think...I’m doing this while working)

If LeBron can't play tomorrow vs. LAC, I could make the argument that the smart thing to do is keep him out through All-Star. Not sure having him back for final 5 games before break changes a whole lot. Even healthy, LA will be underdogs @ GSW, IND, BOS, PHI & should beat ATL.
