Per Trudell

Luke Walton added that Ivica Zubac and Tyson Chandler are also under the weather. So we’ll see who can/will play through it tonight.

Mark this day Laker fans. This is the day Mo Wagner starts his 20 year dominance in the NBA.
Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Pau, McGee, and now Wagner. The long history of hall of fame Laker bigs lives on. I'm obviously joking.

CARLOS MAPLES, EQUIPMENT MANAGER, RESIGNS

Not an injury but he seemed like a cool guy and he’d been with the Lakers since forever.

Per Oram

New from @theathletic: Lakers equipment manager Carlos Maples resigned Thursday. His career with the team spanned more than 30 years. He started as a ball boy with the Showtime Lakers when he was 13.

Per Trudell

Luke Walton said he expects everyone but JaVale McGee to play tonight. That includes Ingram and Rondo, who’ve been hurt, and LeBron, Chandler and Zubac, all battling sickness.

THE PELS ARE SICK TOO

Per Trudell

Alvin Gentry said he hasn’t determined if Anthony Davis (ill) will play, but Davis did look good/normal in warm ups. Mirotic is out, but he expects Randle to play. Gentry said he’s been very good this season, and aside from scoring/boarding, he’s been impressed w/his passing.

JAVALE

I’m out of town so apologies for the slow (when I looked earlier this morning no one was saying anything ). Get well soon, JaVale!

Per Tania G

Can confirm @ChrisBHaynes report that JaVale McGee was hospitalized due to his respiratory infection. He’s been discharged and will be back with the team tonight, but won’t play.

MORE JAVALE

Per Trudell

Luke Walton said JaVale McGee rejoined the team and is over the illness that’s kept him out for a week, but he won’t play tonight and needs to get his energy back. Unclear if he’ll be able to play on Christmas evening at GSW. Depends how he’s feeling.

BEASLEY’S MOM PASSED

Our condolences...

Per Trudell

Everybody’s thoughts around the Lakers are certainly with Michael Beasley, who lost his mother.

NO JAVALE

Not the news I wanted to read after today’s revelry

Per Ohm
JaVale McGee (respiratory infection) will not travel to Oakland with the Lakers and will miss his first chance to play his old team on Christmas Day. espn.com/espn/now?nowId…
https://twitter.com/notoriousohm/status/1077412031270072320?s=21

Per Trudell
JaVale McGee isn’t making the trip to Golden State and is out, as such, for tomorrow’s game as he recovers from pneumonia and tries to get his energy back.

INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE

Per Warriors PR

Injury report for today's game: DeMarcus Cousins (left Achilles rehab), Jacob Evans (left foot contusion) and Damian Jones (left pectoral surgery) are out. Kevin Durant (left ankle sprain) is probable.
https://twitter.com/warriorspr/status/1077643275954049024?s=21

Kevin stepped on someone’s foot in their last game I don’t remember who. But anyway he was able to continue playing through it.

I take it Javale McGee had pneumonia pretty bad if he missed the GS trip entirely. Not a trivial thing missing a game against your former team and an NBA Championship ring ceremony in your honor.

Get well Javale.

Pneumonia is bad lol. There is no minor pneumonia. They tried to play it off that he had a flu (which can be bad enough)
