KAT joins the $30 million/yr salary club which is getting bigger each year. Starting next year, we'll start seeing a $40 million club. Crazy!

KAT's certainly worth top market value but, starting next season the Wolves will have $90 million dedicated to KAT (~$28M), Wiggins ($27M), Teague ($19M), and Dieng ($16M) with the salary cap expected to be $109M. Those days of having a talented young roster on rookie scale contracts are over for Wolves.

What’s the big deal? You get lottery picks and eventually you have to pay them. We will be there, only Towns has been an all star and in the playoffs, he deserves to be paid.

It’s a question of team construction. Market values in the NBA are distorted by the salary cap/max contract system. A player may be able to command a max contract, or a super max contract, but that does not mean that the player’s production will justify the amount of cap space that they occupy.

KAT may justify his contract. He made big strides last year, especially on defense, The Wiggins contract is the bigger issue. In the near future, we are going to be facing the same issue with Ingram.

Wasn't Towns touted as a good defender coming out of college? How is that he is now such a bad defender under Thibbs, a defensive specialist?

The highest salary this year is Curry at $37.4 million. A few players have contracts that will take them to $40 million over the next 1-3 years -- Curry, Harden, Westbrook, James and Paul.

oh i see what you are saying. you're going by the actual year salary instead of the average for the contract. average wise, several are already there. these contracts are unreal.

That Paul contract is going to become an albatross
