LG has now been migrated to faster, better cloud servers. (Next step design/phpbb upgrades).

If you are noticing any odd issues, it could be that the site is still propagating with the domain redirect. Let us know, however, if anything doesn't appear to be functioning as usual.

Thanks!!

Seems like a solid upgrade so far. Pages loading noticeably faster.

Thanks for all of your efforts!

We did a server reset shortly ago just to make sure I can do that process from my phone without issue. So you may have seen that.

Quick question... is there a mobile-adjusted rework planned? It's nearly impossible to consume the site on a mobile device.

I do it all the time.

That's great. I am sure there are others that do, myself included.

That doesn't mean that the experience is enjoyable.

As a software engineer with deep roots in web development, I can assure you that what it is right now wouldn't be acceptable by any standard.

I understand that making the site responsive (or flat out having a different version for mobile) is a big undertaking.

I could probably help, so that's why I asked if there are plans to do that.

The plan is to migrate to phpbb 3.2.x so we can take advantage of responsive design as well as PHP 7.x speed enhancements. Also, with the new cloud server platform, we will be able to upgrade server tech/speed in minutes if needed. All this should help to eliminate critical errors.

To answer your question, yes absolutely, we are addressing the mobile user. I have tested the new responsive design/theme on mobile devices and it works great.

You're correct. There are many responsive themes for phpBB 3. There are some here :

I personally likes BBOOTS which is based in the Bootstrap Framework.

Good work so far, and looking forward to the upgrade.

One request: Please continue to limit/prevent images/embedded content from displaying on posts, and rather require it to continue to be links outward. I know it comes set up by default to be enabled, and I think the user experience sucks when posts are overflowing with images, videos, etc that are taking up the bulk of content space.

^ Definitely understand that concern. We've always tried to keep the signal to noise ratio low.

Any need/desire for raising funds, due to this infra move?

Happy to chip in.

^ Yeah, maybe. We may set something up for that once the new design, everything is complete. I need to see the total damage $$$ once we convert everything.

NOTE: We are doing some large file transfers right now to our new site design sandbox. So the live site may be a little slow.

Good sign, though, is that when we were doing this on the previous server we were getting consistent critical errors. I haven't seen those like we were getting the last couple days.

I'm not able to view threads using Chrome anymore ("502 Bad Gateway"). Not sure if that's related.

You most likely just need to clear your browser cache. If you can open the site in a different browser, that points to just needing to clear your cache.
