That’s a good point. Shouldn’t be too hard to convince some of those kids to come play in LA with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

I’m looking for the Lakers to draft juniors or seniors with that second round pick if they get it. Players that fit the mold of the Jordan clarkson and Larry Nances and players who have more so than not grown into their bodies

Oni - Josh Hart ish
Konchar - versatile SG/Sf who can shoot
Samanic - versatile PF
Windler - tweener forward great shooter
Nowell - creating SG who can shoot
Jeffries - combo forward who can defend, jump out the gym and maybe shoot

I put my list on twitter.

Would love it if Carsen Edwards or Matisse Thybulle dropped to 2nd round and we could snag some picks.

Also Admiral Schofield - in part because of the name. 🤣🤣

Edwards or Thybulle would be dream picks.

I don't think Schofield is draftable.

Does Darius Bazley fall to the second round?

A Darius Bazley/Carsen Edwards haul would be amazing. Would probably need two picks between the range of 31-35

Looking at pick 33 from the 76ers (they have a bunch of picks) and looking at pick 35 from the hawks (they also have a bunch)

Keeping my fingers crossed. That is the perfect draft for the Lakers at this point. You'd land your backup PG and backup SF. Dylan Windler would also be an ideal candidate at that range

I like J. hands from UCLA, his athleticism is crazy, shot 37% from 3 in two seasons and his form looks solid. His #1 skill to me seems to be breaking people off the dribble which we need. He is project to go 50+

If Charles Matthews goes undrafted because of ACL....do you grab him and put him on a 2 Way?

Thanks! Following your twitter now.

Agree with Thybulle. Wouldn't mind one bit if any of the Zaga or Virginia guards dropped into 2nd round as they seem most plug-and-play capable. Any thoughts on if Edwards will drop? Doubt any of the high 2nd round teams will let him slip all that far.

FWIW, I'm not convinced of Jerome or Guy. Same with Perkins. Norvell, Ok.

I don't think Edwards will drop. 2 years of workouts, played 2 different archetypes, and they saw both the efficient version (frosh year) and what happens when he's treated like a #1 option. In a draft this weak at the top and tiers 3-5 being really wide, it's hard to see Edwards slip.

This makes a lot of sense. Here are players I would invite if undrafted

Martin Kramplej - nice athlete, good length, body type reminds me of a stronger more explosive Kuzma.

Jordan Caroline - more athletic Grant Williams type

Bennie Boatwright - high quality shooter

Aric Holman - athletic shooter

Would also consider drafting these players in the 2nd

I'm personally steering away from players who need like more than 12months to get back to their athletic selves and then start the NBA acclimation and skill climb. just because we kinda need to expedite the dev process; at least not prolong it. need like year 2-3 contributors

Oh WAIT. you said undrafted 2way. yes. draft, no.

Jalen mcdaniels is kinda like a dollar store Ingram on acid. I think he has off the court problems(?) but I’m intrigued if we can get a second.

They sound like the names randomly created for new rookies in NBA 2K.

Bennie Boatwright if we get a late 2nd is someone I’d be interested in. Good size and can hit the 3 and spread the floor for Bron and AD.

he looks longer than he is, Julius Randle length. 6'10 and the skinniest guy in the draft really. 190lbs. He's a real project and he doesn't have any cemented skills either.

I like Bennie. Really stood out to me when I was scouting KPJ as someone who can be a potential draft day steal. Just found it weird he's not on any draft boards. But being a USC product, highly likely hes on our radar. Same goes with Jaylen Hands (UCLA)

right, we do not have the luxury of using a roster spot on someone who is not able to play.....it is why I do not think we would consider Okeke if we bought a 2nd round pick and he was there.

I do not think they do that at the podium anymore....since no actual trades are allowed during the blackout period, they just go forward and the kid puts the hat on of that the original team selecting at that spot....even if the Woj and them told us 10 minutes before about the trade on the broadcast.

Maybe my recollection is incorrect, but that is how I recall recent years.
