Zing, we got a winner here

Not a good sign since Durant's one of our targets

Or maybe a good thing like KD’s trying to lure other free agents like Kawhi to stay away so he’ll have his mega max contract as well?

Or maybe talk how difficult it is to play with Lebron and then come and play with Lebron and boost up his glory stats?

KD is scared we'll pick Kawhi over him? That's an interesting angle. That's Skip Bayless level thinking.

We may have to choose from lower tier/non-MVP level FAs like Middleton and Vucevic.

27/18 for Randle against the Mavs. 2-3 from 3pt.

That wasn't quite what Durant said. His opinion was that a young star like Kawhi, who wants to dominate the ball and not share the spotlight, might not be interested. However, nothing in Durant's comments suggested to me that he would be opposed to playing with Lebron himself.

I think I wouldn't be as disappointed if BI actually took a big step this season. I was banking on the fact that PG will not be worth the $30 mil he'll be making at the end of this contract, while BI would be entering his prime and just killing the league. Not sure the latter is ever happening.

I didn't want to trade Ingram for PG and now that would be such a nobrainer.

Same. And I thought trading BI for Kawhi would have been too much also. Jeebus. Still - I don't think Pop was trading Kawhi here regardless of if we offered him all our young guys and 50 first round picks. He was not giving Kawhi what he wanted at the time.

It’s not BI, it’s bi’s environment. No surprise other guys are breaking out away from us.

PG scored like 25 points in the final 7 mins to singlehandedly bring the Thunder back.

When was the last time a Spurs player had a buyout

Because they were always good, this is finally the first time they are in a transition mode, so buyouts might be possible with them, it’s interesting that Bellneli’s minutes have also decreased so I won’t be surprised if he’s also another buy out candidate.

After watching Chandler's resurgent play as a 36 year old center, would anyone be in favor of signing Marc Gasol to a reasonable deal (assuming we don't use all our cap on strike out on MAX FA players)?

With all the big name talent available, he's sort of an afterthought right now. In 35 MPG this season, he's 10th in the league in DBPM and putting up 18 points/9.4 rebounds/4 assists with 41% 3PT shooting (4.6 attempts per game).

We could give him a chance at his first ring, and he could be a perfect combo in our offense of floor spacer, screen setter, ball mover, and rim protector.

He can be LeBron’s Jokic but prob also need a Beal/Kemba/much improved BI to compete with a fully resigned GS

Gasol and his health is what scares me. Though he played 73 games the last 2 years, he's had some low 60s and high 50s games played almost every other year.

The reason Gasol only played 65 games in '11-'12 is because the lockout shortened season only had 66 total games in the regular season. Over his career, he's played in 731 of the 826 possible games (88%). That equates 72 out of 82 per season. Given his size, position, and central role on offense and defense, I'd say his health issues are completely overblown.

He's 34.
Last 5 years GP: 59, 81, 52, 74, 73
Overblown perhaps. He's no Chandler Parsons. But Age + Injuries, including one that made him miss the 16-17 playoffs, I think are a fair concern IMO.

What is your ideal salary for him?

Gasol is *technically* 33 but neither issue that caused him to miss extended time has been a long-term complication. He missed 23 games with an MCL sprain from Nov '13 - Jan '14 and came back to finish the season. He got foot surgery three years ago and has played 74, 73, and all 22 games this season since. As for contract, I'd have to see what the market dictates, including roster needs and money leftover.

The media, in particular Shannon Sharpe, Nick Wright and Colin Coward, do a huge disservice to lebron by coming out everyday and making excuses for him. They let potential free agents know that despite what happens we're going to blame you if things don't go right. lebron makes it worse by throwing his teammates under the bus and posting his stats on IG when his team goes on a losing streak. These are all things that Magic should have taken into consideration when deciding to start his dynasty by signing him first. Time will tell how this whole thing plays out, so I'll wait until after next years free agency to give my full opinion on the matter...I don't want to jinx it.

lol he does that?

The more and more I think about all these stories ( true or not) about Kahwi maybe not wanting to be a 2nd fiddle, and KD sounding off today about wanting to "be his own man" I think the safe play is to go for Klay: Guy who loves the ladies and clubbing ( advantage, L.A.), dad played for the Lakers, from Socal, would get tons and tons of open looks playing with LAbron...
Keep it simple Maginka!

Thomas Bryant 16-9 today (5-8 FG, 1-2 3s, 5-5 FT).

I will never for the life of me understand why Maginka let him go and kept Zubac instead...

As far as I’m concerned, they did him a favor. Luke wasn’t giving him much if any playing time. Likely wasn’t going to this year so he did Bryant a solid.

He will be a free agent this summer so he can still be signed.

With Ingram’s injury, might be time to trade for a bigger wing. Wish we had something to offer Phx for Ariza.

Paul George too. But he has no problem playing next to Westbrook, a lesser player than LeBron who is even more ball dominant. It's really bizarre.
