Mark Jackson did something, and I don't know what, to get blackballed. |
He sucked |

I thought he was decent.
Perhaps it is his coaching style.
Perhaps it's his set of views that's an issue?
Perhaps a combination of both? _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!! |

Jackson is a religious fanatic and a part time pastor and that reportedly bled into his job coaching the Warriors (including trying to have his church cure Steph Curry’s ankles by anointing them with oil). Also doesn’t help his professional resume that his team lost in the first round, they fired him, and the new coach won a championship the following year with the same team. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

He also created a cancerous lockeroom sewing mistrust between players and management and among the players themselves. Any GM dumb enough to hire him deserves the eventual firing. |

Mostly, it seems to be a personality thing. Jackson is pretty cocky, and the report is he was distant from the front office and didn't see a point in analytics.
He turned the Warriors into a regular season winner, but got booted in the first round. After he was fired, Steve Kerr took the same squad and won a ring.
I think the owners see Jackson as a pain in the ass who isn't worth the trouble. Ex-players seem to love him, but the people who sign his paycheck don't. He wasn't successful enough as a coach to make people willing to put up with the arrogance.
Owners talk to each other, so he'll probably never get another head coaching job. |

That would be a very good impactful move for them and it would much better then getting guys like Kidd or Lue, the big question is rather Pop is more concerned about loyalty or chasing more championships. |

Good. Hope he can make Kyrie as good as Parker. 😝 _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant |

Have thought for some time that this would be the play. Would be a good opportunity for Pop, especially as he seems to have interest in being a political voice. Spurs would get compensation, Kyrie and KD get a great coach. Prez is from SA tree.
Wouldn’t be surprised if that happened. |

Pop knows way better than to go to that Circus. They'd have to give him an absolutely obscene amount of money (5 years/100 million?) and from what I've read about Joseph Tsai and the financial hits he's taken, i don't see him breaking the bank like that. |

lmao but they wanted Kuzma for him, trash franchise, shoulda taken 2 seconds rather than letting him walk |
51.7/4yr deal he didnt pick up all year? dang
Prediction: The Kings will match a reasonable offer for Bogdanovic and he'll stay for another four seasons, even without one of his heroes manning the team. |

I guess I should read the thread before I participate. I see now. Definitely agreed, Yinoma . . . don't see him enjoying Kyrie and KD's particular brand of NBA superstar drama |

Pop has had an insane amount of low drama guys on his teams who were HOF talent.
Robinson
Duncan
Parker
Manu
Even Kawhi until he wanted out. And Pop didn't exactly handle that drama well, making an insanely terrible trade (and threw in Danny Green too).
Kyrie and KD will drive him right into retirement. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

All the backups and role players too. There is only one problem child I can really think of and it was S-Jax, and he was gone right after the 03 chip. Then they brought him back a decade later and cut him again after a good playoffs. And S-jax was a real problem, too - he absolutely hated Manu and TP and constantly whined that they got more playing time than him. (He's very racist towards non-american blacks.) Imagine two S-Jax's who are also your best players. Yikes. |

And Pop will demand a system oriented gameplan. Not a lot of room for just freewheeling. It isn't an ideal marriage at all. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
