As a Kuz defender he definitely needs to step up in these next two games.

Otoh if he keeps disappearing in all these games where he's getting the minutes and shots he supposedly needs, it's only gonna lower his trade value more.

Yeah seriously, if he doesn’t play well no one is gonna give up value, you can’t expect him to play bad and get a nice player in return.

Pelinka is not trading kuzma for likes of d rose

It's already been reported that he is looking for a young guy and a high 1st round pick or 2 lower 1sr rounders

Not saying he is getting that but it tells he is looking for Young assets over 1 foot in grave players like d rose

And avoiding an unhappy AD with a Cavs 2.0 roster.

Other then next year's 1st, we have no assets other then kuzma and tht.

Looking at recent history dlo became all star in 4th year and bi is baking in 4th year. Its kuzma's 3rd year still. So he needs time

DLo and BI were teenagers when they came in the league. There was just more room for them to grow. Kuz has already gone from a relatively unknown in college to a household name. It's more reasonable to think he's near his ceiling.

League experience is league experience. 4th year in the league is the key

26,36,11,4 in last 4 games. He needs to be consistent and that comes with time and opportunities

Experience is important, but age is more important.

This x 100. Anyone arguing otherwise needs to bone up on why younger guys get drafted higher than older guys for the most part.

More upside (and trade/draft value) in younger players- regardless of how long they have been in the NBA.

Thank you, shook! It's one of the foundational truths of drafting. There's no data that disproves it.

What a pleasant surprise. Everyone just played solid in their role and kept fighting... Kuz had an all around game and good defense game, even on their stars. KCP was really good and can defend Westbrook.

Vogel made a switch to put Kuzma on Westbrook and it was a great coaching move.

Dang, that was scary
I thought Westbrook hurt his Achilles at the end of the game.
Glad he was able to walk it off.
Houston would have dropped like flies

Which is what you get when you have a team with character guys like Green, Bradley, Caruso, Dwight (yes even Dwight), Rondo etc. This team plays for the front of the jersey.

Not about player development - team development. Not about stats. Wins. This is Lakers culture.

We need to keep working towards getting better as a team. No way we would be scoring like this early in the season without AD. Heck a month ago this would not be possible. We are playing this well because Kuzma, KCP, and others have figured out their spots in the offense. We are seeing a lot more sets where the players are moving into their spots quicker and also willing to take shots or make plays. Dwights screens are just magnificent - its like he creates a shot every time he sets those screens as the freedom the ballhandler gets after a Dwight Howard screen is a wide open jumper.

This was probably the easiest of those 3 games, which is why not having AD and winning this one was critical.

23/8/1 and good defense on Russ 2nd half is decent?

are you expecting him to put ad/bron numbers?

But we still need a better backup PG and a big wing defender. Get those and we can win this. Don’t and our margins are so small.

I agree we should keep trying to add - I just do not agree that we need to trade Kuzma to get those pieces. I think we can get that help through the FA buyout market in late Feb-early March or by making some small trades. We do not need a major shake up.

I know KIROE is high on THT, but is he really worth keeping longterm? There isn't a single guy on this roster who deserves to be cut - and someone has to be to make space for a FA. THT is a guy that has not really been part of this journey at all ... but KIROE is really high on him. And he's signed with KLUTCH. So untouchable.
