When someone asks "where are you at?" or "where is it at?" The "at" is not necessary and it makes the person sound dumb.

I just interviewed someone for an assistant job who said something similar and I immediately disqualified her in my head.

SIDE NOTE: these kids I'm interviewing are awful. They have no energy or sense of urgency. One kid (and I mean a 22 year old) came dressed very casually, did not rise to shake my hand when I greeted him and gave me a weak handshake when he made the effort to respond. WTF? So far the three people I have met don't seem to have any courtesy nor do they show any willingness to exert effort. One said he excels when he is passionate about something. Huh? What if you're not passionate and the task is just a routine exercise?

I'm going home to speak to my kids about this attitude. I'm going to bust their chops about presentation because it matters.

Kinda of topic, because that and this are grammar issues, but it drives me crazy how few people know the difference between "less" and "fewer" . . .

I think the phrase is, "where you at?". And I say that nearly every day.
