very tempting

I guess bettors don’t think Lakers will go down without giving themselves a chance in the last 19 games.

I would put money on the Lakers tonight for sure, I’m not sure if you would but LeBron isn’t gonna just completely fold, he’s gonna want to make sure he gives the Lakers a chance to get in the playoffs in the last 19 games...

I know it is not all about the Lakers...but I get suspicious if some teams do not go all out when playing a game they they do not need, and against a team the Lakers need to lose. The Lakers only way into the playoffs is basically if 2 of the 3 (Spurs, Clippers, and Kings) teams ahead of us went on a long losing streak. Then you see the #2 Seed Nuggets get boat raced tonight by the #8 seed Spurs.

Every team gets up to play the Lakers.

It's hillariously sad the lakers lost their playoff hopes before their difficult part of the season.

It's understandable not making the playoffs because of losing to multiple playoff-calibur teams in succession, but to be DOA by losing to the hawks, grizz, pelicans w/o ad and suns before facing those teams is downright embarrasing.

And plenty more losses to sub 500 teams earlier in the year. Losses at home to NY and Cleveland still sticks out. They're not good enough to think they have a switch. Part of the blame is definitely Lebron. All this activation talk tells you that he played a certain way, and the team followed. The problem is that he may have a switch, but how does he know the other 14 guys have it? Michael Jordan played hard all the time, so the team played hard all the time. He was at this age when he won back to back in Chicago. MJ wasn't any younger. Lebron has more miles, but in terms of the age, they were the same, and MJ played hard all the time. You do as your leader do, and this taking plays off, activation mode thing just won't cut it next year. He has to realize this.

Timberwolves won, the Lakers lost

They have now tied essentially caught us at the same record.

Andrew Wiggins at LBJ now that the Lakers and Timberwolves are tied

I still think we can make it. I just have a feeling we will. We are due for a 15 game winning streak.

Not really a matter of quit at this point. Current status of opening day roster:

Lonzo - likely out for season
Ingram- out
LBJ - playing but reportedly still hurt (bs)
Kuz - out
McGee - cannot physically play starter minutes

Rondo - reportedly still hurt
Hart - just coming off injury
KCP - merc who is now effectively replaced by Bullock
Beasley - traded
Zu - traded
Svi - traded
Bonga - G league
Wagner - was hurt early but is getting no playing time thanks to Muscala

The cupboard is empty....

That's the thing. Despite the losses to the NY/CLE and injuries, we were coming into atl with a .500 record and an emotional win before the break. We were still in the thick of things yet somehow laid eggs to the bottom dwellers despite major contributions from lebron, BI, Kuz and at times rondo. There shouldn't even be a switch to beat those teams.

You truly have to lose a team for these kind of losses this late, hence why I place blame on the FO. Magic did have that meeting after the boston game and we've only won twice since.

I’m assuming that 90% of Laker fans are over this season and are focused on the draft, there is only probably like 5 people who still believe we can make the playoffs lol

Surprised this thread hasn’t been locked yet.

Don't forget the massacre in Indiana which was 100% a direct result of the trade noise that LeBron sparked.

I officially gave up hope 3 games ago even though I obviously knew it was pretty likely long before that.. It's not even about the upcoming schedule or anything else it's simply how the team looks.. They have/had zero urgency, next to no hustle on either side, they went from not talking enough on defense to pretty much just saying eff it and went full mute. This years team is just straight up pathetic. It's one thing to go down fighting and understand as a fan they went through so much injuries and bs this year but the fight is nonexistent.

I gave up after the loss at Pelicans 24 of Feb. After that I didn't watch a single game. That was like the moment when this season ended. I am already waiting for the new one. This one is washed.
I can see easily 10 games losing streak until we play Nets at home. Don't see how this team can win on the road against anyone.
