I'm gonna see if I can get to the Barca/Spurs match. The AC Milan/ManU is not as exciting to me. _________________ "We got a new universe coming and he's going to control all our universes. We're going to put our universes together" - Metta World Peace |

Serie A will be great this year, the top teams have all improved and Ronaldo joined Juve who could finally break through and win the CL league. Last year Serie A was the most competitive of all the top tier leagues, I expect the same this year.
1 Juve
2 Inter
3 Napoli
4 Roma
5 Milan
6 Lazio
ESPN just signed a multi year deal to broadcast Serie A games, they will have game of the week on ESPN and ESPN Deportes and will stream over 300 games a season on ESPN + |

Lenglet is a big addition; gives them the flexibility to play 3 central defenders with wingbacks.
Unlike the EPL, their window isn't closed until the end of the month. _________________ Character

I don’t think Chelsea has the horses. With all of the Grumpy Mou coverage, it’s easy to forget just how much freaking talent Man U has. My conspiracy theory is that Mou just wants to lower expectations so that the Man U army doesn’t freak if Man City runs away again. Failure to bolster the back line is a worry, and the Godin snub is a bad look, but Man U still has a lot more weapons than Chelsea. I expect Man U and LFC to be far more competitive with each other than with Man City or the teams below them.
If any team pulls a big surprise this year, my pick is Arsenal. I have a suspicion that some of the existing players were not maximized by Wenger. If so, Aresnal could improve faster than expected. |

EPL: City-Liverpool-Utd-Arsenal/Spurs/Chelsea
Laliga: Barcelona-Atletico/Real Madrid
UCL: Semi finals: Real Madrid, PSG, Atletico and Barcelona, depends on draws City, Bayern and Liverpool may replace some of those teams.
Winner: Real Madrid or PSG. |

I think the Prem will be City - Utd - Liverpool - Arsenal as top 4
For me, City are still leaps and bounds ahead of anyone else. I also like Liverpool's transfer business, but still think their defence is suspect, particularly against set pieces, and I also don't bet on their attack to replicate their blistering form from last season.
Think Spurs needed to do something this summer to strengthen, and also think Chelsea should've done more.
Arsenal should hopefully be a pleasant surprise, they've bought need players, and should hopefully not have a bit more bite to go with the flair. Having Auba & Laca together for an entire season should also hopefully mean a lot of goals. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

EPL starts today, I'm so excited. My meaningless top 4 prediction:
1. Man. City
2. Arsenal
3. Liverpool
4. Man. United
I think City will win the league again, hopefully it will be more competitive this year. I'm really high on Arsenal, they have talented players and Torreira is exactly the kind of player they've been missing. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool and United finish above them either. i just hope its close.
Tottenham did nothing to improve, while other teams got better. i think they'll slip a bit imo.
I don't like the vibe from Chelsea. I feel like they are in a rut and I don't like their strikers.
I don't like the vibe form Man. United either, but as others have said they have a ton of talent to see them through. |

My top 4 EPL teams are:
1. City
2. Liverpool
3. Chelsea
4. United
Arsenal has a chance to get in there with the boost that Emery might bring, but I see them displacing United instead of Chelsea because Mourinho may self-destruct by alienating his players with constant criticism. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. Three points in the bag. Fred, Pereira, Pogba midfield was excellent along with the cb pairing of Lindelof and Bailly. Shaw had a good game along with the winning goal. Our attack today was a bit of a letdown. Sanchez provided little besides his workrate while Rashford/Lukaku lacked the sharpness expected of them (probably due to a lack of training with the rest of the squad). _________________ Character

I don't buy that as preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity, but if the ref has called it dangerous play and that's why it's red, then fine. Jagielka went in studs up, made contact, when you do that you have to be prepared that refs will react to it and label it as dangerous. You could argue maybe a touch harsh, but that's the risk you take when you make challenges like that. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

The red did call it as a dangerous play, and I guess I can buy that. It’s harsh, but not unreasonable. |

Think it was a red, but not a clear goalscoring opportunity. Catches Jota on the ankle; not malicious but very clumsy. If Jagielka had a better first touch, he wouldn't have been in that situation in the first place...
The outrage ought to be where the ensuing free kick was placed. Looked about a meter or two off where Jagielka originally committed the foul. _________________ Character

I watched Man. City vs Arsenal this morning. it was about what I expected. City looked great and was the better team. I liked some of the things I saw from Arsenal. I think Torreira should take Xhaka's spot and Lacazette should start alongside Aubumayeng. Just my opinion though. |
