Just glad for JaVale that he is performing in the manner he started to show a few years ago (before his minutes were reduced by various circumstances.)

Man, I'm loving the Javale/Tyson tandem. I wonder if we can keep these two to play with Bron long term at a reasonable price.

Let's stay away from teams with stretch bigs.

If you don’t want a big who can step out and guard on the perimeter. Neither can.

It isn’t Luke’s fault, it is roster construction.

Hardwood Paroxysm
@HPbasketball

The Lakers are 8-1 when JaVale has a positive plus-minus. They are 3-8 when he has a 0 or negative plus-minus.

You’d expect “starting center gets outscored, team loses” so there’s some noise there. But it’s stronger than a lot of players anecdotally in correlation.

McGee has regressed significantly, I would honestly look to get Gibson if I was the Lakers.

you can't blame that on anyone. there are not bigs that can defend him or any of these highly skilled bigs, except for a handful of nba other balling bigs that were not available.

lopez had good shot blocking ability but he couldnt slow or stop any good post up big that could also step out. embiid killed him every single time.

His offense has regressed though but I won’t mind the Ben Wallace role if he’s good enough to play it.

McGee is gone next year. We won't be able to pay him. Nobody is talking about this.

McGee will def. get bigger offers then his current deal obviously but he is still limited minute wise so that is going to always bring his price down no matter what.. I think there is a decent chance we bring him back, it's pretty much impossible to tell either way at this point since there are endless scenarios we can end up at from now until free agency is over next year.

For some reason their not going to him as much the last few games. Those lobs off of PnR and slip screens have been very effective.

Next year if the Lakers get a max scoring FA it will be important to keep McGee and Chandler.
With the last hole being filled it would be foolish to make another big hole.
Would expect the Lakers payroll to increase to be competitive with the other contenders.

They should replace one of McGee or Chandler with a big who can guard on the perimeter. I haven’t looked at a FA yet for any ideas.

I can't believe how amazing of a pickup this dude has been. Played great, great teammate. Seems like a genuinely nice person. Really happy he's on the team.
