Its been widely reported that NOP will taken Zion, Memphis Morant and Knicks RJ ahead of us. In the draft thread, i see many different preferences for the 4th pick. Who's your pick? _________________ “God knew they couldn’t be on this Earth without each other. He had to bring them home to have them together.” – Vanessa Bryant |

Plan A: Trade Down to 6 or 7
Plan B: If we keep the 4th pick, draft De'Andre Hunter if we plan to be competitive for a championship. He's a bit older but is most ready to contribute now. If we draft for most potential, draft Garland.

IF those three are taken, Culver is the next best player. |

I hope NY takes Garland but if they dont and we keep the pick it's Garland or Hunter...not sure how anyone could say Culver is better than either, but especially Hunter. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

I would be ok with Culver if I knew he would be a solid 3pt shooter. |

My thoughts are the best shooting perimeter player available or someone able to play center right away. I'm thinking Garland is the best shooter in the top echelon, but I just don't know for sure. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Hunter. NBA ready body, length, not scared of big moments, and can never have too many wing defenders. |

Garland might end up being the best point guard in this draft and this is a guard’s league.
He is also the bpa at that point.
Will fit with Ball and Lebron. |

I hope they just pick the player that Jesse, Joey, Ryan West and the scouting department have ranked as the bpa. I'm fine with whoever that is since I'm not spending much time watching any of these prospects. |

I really don't think this is a "guard's league" if you mean small point guards who can't pull their weight on defense... unless their name is Steph Curry. I'd describe it as a "league that has made it more possible for exceptional smaller guards to emerge as MVPs on their team"... but the good big ones still win over equally good small ones.
Let's not forget Steph has won as many titles as he has because of the 6'7" equally sharp shooting + all-defensive team SG next to him... and behind them, the 7'0" monster SF who is the best scorer in the league and who defends too... and Draymond... and Iggy... and Livingston, etc... and their system of playing. Even with all those players, GSW most likely would not have won their last 2 titles without KD.

Agreed, defense will be a concern. I also feel he is similar to Curry in size and style, not saying he will be as good, but, assuming we draft him, a poor man’s Curry. |

if We’re going on skill, measurements, age, potential, injury history I kinda think it’s reddish hands down.
6’8 SG with a 7’ wingspan is elite at that position. Even if he’s thrown into the G-league to develop for the next couple of seasons I think it’s worth the investment long term. That’s if the were not trading the pic.
Sorry but the kid just passes the eye test. Sometimes numbers lie, and I believe that’s the case with Cam Reddish this past season. He was used in a role that doesn’t show his skillset and forced him into a spot up shooter. I really think he would be the consensus # 2 pick if he wasn’t playing for duke.
I really like him more than Zion too if were talking about how the players project.
Will he take time to develop? Probably, but this will likely be our last top pick for a while because we’re competing for chips for the next few seasons. This kid would have the luxury of developing without the pressure.
If you like a small guard who can shoot and get buckets just buy a second round pick and draft Carson Edwards. He likely has the same NBA ceiling as garland. Look around the NBA man and understand how special you have to be to be a starting point guard in the NBA.
Compare garland against that. He ain’t guarding none of them that’s for sure...he ain’t better than any of the recent point guard prospects that have been drafted at the top of the draft.
Lonzo? Will lock him up
Russell? Drop 30 on his lil ass easy
Fox? No chance
Simmons? U serious?
Trey young? Does what he does but much better
And these are just the young guards in this league
I honestly don’t even know if JA is worth a top pick in this draft but at least he has the athleticism and aggressiveness. We see what that did for AI and Westbrook.
Now, look around the NBA at the SG position. Doesn’t it seem more likely to find a above average talent at SG if they have all the measurements? We got Kobe Bryant in LA send Cam over there.
Sorry but you gotta be able to do something special in this league if you wanna stand out. These guards ain’t it...they’ll get they dropped off in the nba.
I’ll take Cam please. Next top tier SG and there ain’t too many guys in the league in his way. _________________ “like I never left”

Agree to a deal in principle with NOP to draft their player for them but not complete the trade until after free agency similar to how the Cavs did with Loveand Wiggins.
If not, I’d prefer to trade back to 8&10 and try to get Guerrero in the deal. If not, give me 8 AT huerter. |

Surprised So many on the Garland train. So little out there on him - and what there is, it's not exactly against stellar competition. |
