Just saw that the Saints kicked our butt last night - please tell me that we didn't play a single starter.

Not sure we played a single second-stringer outside of Special Teams.

Game was a blowout. I don't think I saw any of the regulars play. It was the last game before cuts being made so not surprised by the result of the game.

Sad that every team the Rams played had better back-up QB's than them...

For a team that is clearly all-in on trying to win this season, the Rams' backup QB situation is simply not acceptable. I don't care how good the D is, they can't risk Mannion sinking the ship, and although I think Nick Foles overachieved in 2 of the 3 playoff games and was on the run of his life, he's still a very good NFL backup.

This won't happen, and he's not even ready to play, but Kaepernick would make a good backup for the type of offense McVay runs. With the Saints pulling the trigger for Bridgewater, I wonder if the Rams could have interest in RG3, who is rumored to be on the block (Baltimore apparently doesn't like to carry 3 QB's). Sean McVay was the Tight Ends coach when RG3 was playing QB for the Redskins. I wouldn't think that he would cost anything close to what the Saints paid for Teddy (a 3rd round pick). Just something to keep an eye on; for what it's worth, Griffin had a good preseason. I think the Rams are making a major mistake if they don't make a move at QB.

Just have to hope Goff can stay healthy or Mannion's performance will improve playing with the starters, getting better pass protection and using the actual offensive sets he's practicing with every day.

I remember during the pre-season of Goff's rookie season, Mannion actually played better than he did and there was talk whether he should be the #2 behind Keenum.

After roster cuts today I got to believe the team will look to add someone. Mannion hasn't shown a damn thing in 4 years. RGIII may be available...how ironic would THAT be?

Interesting - I wouldnt mind having Kaepernick on the team as a backup - I dont have a problem with his activism. Rams probably wouldn't do it because its a lot of extra attention for perhaps marginal added value to the team.

Maybe pick up both RG3 and Kaep, and just choose who's better.

No problem with his activism, big problem with his ability to read defenses.

I am not crazy about his activism as it becomes a team distraction, but his inability to read defenses and incredibly slow release are far bigger problems.

Kelly, Noteboom and Hodge were the guys who impressed me during pre-season. Hodge is probably a long shot though with Cooks, Woods, Kupp, Cooper and Reynolds ahead of him. Would like to have seen them play Hodge on special teams to see if he could earn a spot there.

Kelly really impressed me but not going to get too excited until I see him take some snaps against NFL starters. I was high on Justin Davis after last pre-season but it didn't carry over to the regular season and he had his chances when Malcom Brown was out.

Well, the Ravens kept RG3. I still think they could trade him if the right offer came along, but maybe they feel like he would be a better option for them than Lamar Jackson right now, if Flacco went down.

I don't think Kaepernick is a realistic option because I don't think he's even been keeping in football shape and working out/throwing passes, but I could be wrong. Obviously he's not the greatest throwing QB, but he's clearly, clearly, CLEARLY one of the best 50 QB's on the planet, and probably quite a bit higher than that. He doesn't turn the ball over much, defenses have to account for his rushing, and it's not like he's any worse as a passer than lower-tier NFL starters/high-end backups. I mean, Tyrod Taylor wins games at a decent rate as an NFL starter, and you can't tell me that Buffalo was loaded with talent while he was there. The Jaguars, a team with serious aspirations, start Blake Bortles at QB. Yes, a guy like Kaep means that you can't run every exotic passing call in your playbook, but when you're set up like the Rams are, is that really necessary, particularly if you only need a guy to hold down the fort for a few weeks? Quite simply, Mannion has the downside to sink the ship.

I really think they need to make a move at QB. It's the one area that could torpedo their season.

I think that would have been a very defensible statement 2 years ago, but I would struggle to be confident in that being accurate today. The league is flooded with talent every season, and Kap has not been in an NFL practice since 2016. For example, as a Bucs fan, I would not even consider him over any of out 3 QB's on the roster....although I am probably a bit higher on Ryan Griffin that most fans. At the same time, I know the Bucs are not the envy of the league at the QB position.

But since the Bills are starting Nathan Peterman, maybe you have a point.

The Rams want everyone to come to Los Angeles.

That's the message we can take from COO Kevin Demoff, who admitted that L.A. tried to swing a trade with the Oakland Raiders for Khalil Mack.

"We offered a pretty aggressive package and they came back and said, 'We just think you're going to pick too low,'" Demoff said about the Rams' potential draft pick compensation, per Gary Klein of the L.A. Times.

I still get a little angry about drafting Greg Robinson over Mack but would the Rams have also taken Donald if they had?

So hyped but after the sloppiness we saw from the SB champs in Week 1, I'm keeping my expectations for our offense in check.

I still expect our defense to be great even though Donald missed all of training camp. Can't wait to see him, Suh and Brockers line up together for the first time.
