The NFL follows its rulebook, not Adkindo's Big Book of Fundamental Football Truths.

^^^you can express it is Mandarin, and I still disagree. I know the rules are different when talking about a reception and the standard fumble, but I did not compare the two (although maybe Stu said something about a pass play). My position is simple, the defender made contact with Watson and Watson began to go to the ground....before any part of Watson was down, the ball clearly became loose and at that point Watson no longer has possession of the ball. Possession is absolute....either a player possesses the ball completely, or he does not possess the ball at all. As Watson made contact with the surface, he had never regained possession and the ball bounced away from Watson's body, and recovered by the defense. I saw several replays that clearly illustrated the ball being loose and Watson never regaining possession. The NFL's phony explanation requires one to believe that possession is not absolute, but that is a fundamental football truth.

The only problem I can see with your "absolute" position, is that it would be virtually and physically impossible for a football not to move.

So there is always going to be some element of context there.

Impartial, but, when I saw the replay, I too thought it was a fumble because for me, it had "moved" enough to warrant the call.

But there's always going to be a contextual element. Just like when a receiver catches the ball and it hits the ground, it's not always incomplete.

That's fair. My reaction was "Stands." If the officials had called it a fumble on the field, my reaction would have been the same.

Texas fans see the play one way, others see it another. I was pulling for Texas, I'm a Ram/Raider fan. I saw a fumble. I've said it before, I'll say it again. If Watson doesn't start sliding he's not going to finish the season.

On the topic of fumbles, NO/DAL game, I’m thinking it should be a fumble. Interesting to see what they rule.

did not say the ball can't move? I said the ball became "loose" which negates possession. Btw, it is not my "absolute" position....it has always been an accepted football position. One can not have 30% possession.....a player either has possession or they do not have possession.

Brees has been terrible in the 1st half.....just looks off. Obviously, I can not see the game through his eyes, so I can't see the separation his receivers are getting or the windows that are there or not there....but they are not getting it done.

Considering the opponent, that may have been the best defensive performance of the season. Dallas was just all over the Saints on defense, quickly coming up to tackle the RB's on those patented screens, and blanketing their WR's. And their tackling in general was just outstanding. They were fired up and they backed it up.

Sigh. TMZ has obtained footage of Kareem Hunt assaulting a female alleged victim.

Very sad for everyone involved.

^^^he will be on a very long break.....pure dumbass. Let's just take the actual crime and action off the table....how can someone be so stupid not to learn at this point....especially in a public hotel with camera's everywhere. Again, not diminishing hitting a female, that is a whole different discussion.

He may have had some wiggle room....as in it was actually his friend that fell into the female knocking her down, etc......not much, but maybe some....if not for that kick at the end. Dude blatantly kicked a female while on the ground. He also claimed she called him the N-Word....I have doubts without proof...but either way, getting called the N-Word will get you some leniency and empathy when striking a dude.....nobody is giving him a pass on striking a female even if she did call him that name. He will be hit with a heavy suspension....and honestly his career may be on the line. He is just not important enough for the NFL to take another Ray Rice PR beating.

If the NFL and/or the Chiefs knew about the video and covered it up for months, that could be huge.

they may never admit it, and it may never be able to be proved....but I think it is safe to say that both likely were aware that an event took place. I am just not buying that every employee is what is probably a 5 star hotel that is heavily staffed did not communicate about this story.

They were definitely aware of the incident. It was even reported on at the time, I believe, or shortly after. Clark Hunt, the Chiefs owner, even talked about it during training camp. So it makes you wonder if they were aware that a video existed, or if they saw the video, and I mean "they" to be either KC or the NFL. I'm sure they are going to claim that they were not aware of any footage and that will be the impetus for the league to issue a suspension. I think it's at least 50/50 that the suspension begins immediately. Maybe more like 75/25.

I am told the Chiefs sent Kareem Hunt home from the facility today upon learning of the release of the video and pending further action. Most likely short-term resolution is that Hunt would be placed on the commissioner's exempt list pending a final decision, but we will see.

I thought I made my mistakes painfully clear!!!!

I thought I was a perfect example of what NOT to do!!!!

I thought by speaking aloud about my pitfalls that players after me could see these situations before they’d happen.

REALLY (BLEEPING) UPSET KAREEM......

Per Dan Graziano @ ESPN, Kareem Hunt was sent home and will likely be placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list.
