Didn't NO put both Randle and Mirotic on the market but only Mirotic had takers? |
The nuisances of their contract situations explains why no one was willing to pay a lot for Randle.
A team that trades for Mirotic gets his bird rights. The bucks could sign Mirotic for up to the max if they really wanted to keep him. For any team over the cap, that is very important and valuable.
Any over the cap team that trades for Randle would struggle to keep him as they could only pay him marginally more than his current contract. Any under the cap team wouldn't want to trade away assets to sign a player they could sign in 3 months anyway. |
But is Jules really getting more than 120% of his current 9m/year deal long term? Maybe he is, but I agree with your point. However, if the demand was say a 2nd rounder, and you're a contender in need of a bruiser PF isn't it worth it? |
Based on all the teams that NEED to spend money this summer, I can easily seeing Randle getting $14-16m offers.
My guess is that NO's was holding out for more than just a 2nd rounder to trade him given that he is a young player that they probably would want to keep long-term. |

All they had to do was run back the 2017-18 Lakers team with replacing Luol Deng to signing LeBron and upgrade the backup PG from Tyler Ennis to anybody, even sign back an injured Isaiah Thomas to a 1 year deal. But, they insisted that McGee, Rondo, Lance, & Beasley types are better fits and players than Lopez, Randle, & Thomas Bryant. Already making up their minds months in advance to not pay Zubac and only getting back Mike Muscala. Trading and looking for shooters at the trade deadline because they realized that their offseason besides getting LeBron stunk and didn't fit how a team should be build around LeBron in 2018/2019. Trashed Russell when they traded him on the way out, only for Russell to become an All-Star. Things are just starting to blow up on their faces, and might just be the beginning only. |

Only one player left from Mitch Era. Magic wants his hand print on the Lakers, so far it sucks...... |

The season was lost cuz of magic’s ineptitude, awful offseason supporting cast..... Even worse, dumping off zubac. Zubac would have impacted both ends tonight, instead we were left with nothing from muscala. |

They could build a lot of good will with fans if they fire Luke. Unfortunately, the longer they wait the more it looks like they're the idiots. |

He was 47% 40% from the 3 with 7 assists and controlled the tempo of the game. Randle balled against us too. Dang.

unless we get another max star with the cap space, it was a terrible trade on its own....we basically traded Clarkson and Nance for Wagner (so far). |

45% FG, 40% from 3(6-15), 6-6 FT and 7 assists. Terrible indeed. The length people go to. _________________ Showtime 2.0 |

Not sure about trades, but not getting back BroLo was a hige mistake, specially since he didnt cost much.
BroLo, McGee, Zu would have been a nice C rotation.
We signed TC, traded Zu and are short at the 5 spot once again cause McGee cant play all game and TC is being limited till maybe the playoffs. |

It's tough to say. Our team would look different if we kept him.

Magic and Pelinka are completely inept and a joke. However the problem goes even higher than them, this all falls under Jeannie Buss who is equally as inept as the 2 clowns running our front office.
THis is all going to end very bad for the Lakers, Magic is going to pillage the franchise before this is all done. |

And DLO can move without the ball, spot up and shoot really well, just as he can create off the dribble. |
