Anyone else catch the show?
Pleasantly surprised. |

Seth just can't carry a dramedy like this, imo. Hopefully the rest of the crew gets developed enough to help buoy him up. |

It was Seth McFarlane so I was going to check it out. I thought it was just okay.
The only part of the episode I thought was funny was the dog licking himself in the background. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant |

Funny that you mention that. I watched about 10 minutes when I walked into the room because it was on after football. I thought the dog thing was a fun chuckle as a background detail, but the rest of what I saw was neither funny nor interesting. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Its a 3o minute sitcom that is trying to be an hour long serial. Sort of reminds me of that NBC show about making superhero proof products. Forgot what it was called, but aired last year and was canceled. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

Powerless. Awful.
I'm meh on The Orville. Not sure if it's a one hour show, felt like it dragged. Thought it was a 30-minute comedy. I'm currently watching Star Trek, and I've been watching it for months now, so maybe I'll continue watching this one just because of that connection. Though it feels like a show that will get cancelled mid-season. |

It wasn't terrible, but I found it kinda boring. It might have been my expectations of a Macfarlane comedy that biased me, since it became fairly clear halfway in that it wasn't the constant gag fest that Mcfarlane tends to do in his comedies. I went in expecting to laugh (only a couple of chuckles, one at the dog and the other when Mockingbird started asking the enemy captain to act as a marriage counselor to buy some time) but that didn't happen. Seemed like the show was playing the Star Trek genre pretty straight instead of the parody I thought it would be. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if I find it better now that I know what to expect. |

It's no Galaxy Quest that's for sure.
I give it a meh. If it starts getting better and the word of mouth is to give it another shot i may consider it. I usually like McFarlanes stuff. |

I watched the episode again to see the mention of the dog, I missed it initially. It was a "chuckle" moment.
I found it entertaining. Comedy, drama like. Constantly injecting family matters was overdone. Star Trek like situations that called for the captain to find a solution, alien shipmates, the ship itself all Star Trek like. It's no Star Trek but what is? Episode II should be interesting. Bortus, the like of Worf will lay a egg to reproduce. That's a real stretch. I'll watch again.
Did anyone watch "The Deuc?" I had to change the spelling of Deuc, for some reason the filter changed it to "that guy." I don't think it will catch on. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Next week its in a 5PM time slot. I'm assuming that means based on the numbers they received that the network has already determined that its a dog. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

If he's writing something great If he's starring as the main person idk?
Ill give it an episode but ill wait till the season is over to see if they at least finish the season on air but by the trailer I saw it made it look like a comedy.
It can't be as bad as the Big Bang Theory guy as a kid |

Its right after FOX NFL Sunday. So its primetime for the east coast. |

It's up against the tail end of the Packers and Falcons on NBC 4. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Most likely it's an attempt to compete with the Emmy Awards and Sunday Night Football on NBC by putting it up against those on both coasts. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Not sure what you mean.....but 5PM PT is 8PM ET....the NFL game on NBC would still be in the 1st quarter by the time the show finished at 6PM PT or 9PM ET. The reason why they put those shows after the NFL on FOX is to get a ratings bump from all the people with Nielsen Boxes that left it on the channel. |
