He basically has. KCP is almost out of the lineup right now. 4 minutes last game. 8 minutes this game.

No question Caruso is in front of Pope in the rotation. Not only that, but LeBron seems to really like running high ball screens with him (LB as the ball handler).

Going to have to start hitting shots at some point though. Should do better if we get another ball handler to help create looks.

He has not shot the 3 ball well but I expect him to be at least decent by All Star break now that he’s more comfortable with his role and taking away KCP minutes.

Emboldened by his coach, he's clearly locked in to his role as defensive disruptor. He needs to watch tape of Bruce Bowen though, so he can learn that even though your role is defensive, you can still slip out and hit some threes. It won't throw you off your focus to hit a couple of jumpshots in addition to locking up a gut on that end.

Hopefully he'll get it.

Doing the little things that don't show up on the scoreboard. I love this kid.
Booker was clearly frustrated last night.

I've advocated that if Rondo is back, Caruso takes most of KCP's minutes (and a bit of what Caruso was playing as a "PG.").

He's feisty enough and has enough size to guard most "SGs" and Booker is one of the better ones and he did well. KCP should be phased out by Caruso.

Booker is one snowflake. Caruso is a pretty good swiper.

If there were ever a coach who would value Alex, it is Frank. Most HCs would see a PG that can not really run a team, and care about the pace and space needs and all that. They would want a better 3 point shooter, or better passer pr better QB type. It's interesting, but I am almost certain very few other teams would use Alex the way we are. It's a good match.

I really like this guy, I do not think he will ever be a starter in the league or a legit PG that can run a team/lineup, but as a defensive role player who can play off the ball, maybe some combo guard, yes he will make it. Hopefully he keeps getting better as this is just his 3rd year in the league and maybe his first season getting regular minutes.

Dancing Berry brought up a good analogy of Caruso's defense on Booker last night, comparing him to the IRS. It made me think it's time for a Caruso nick name. So do we have a consensuses on "The Accountant", The Auditor" The "IRS" or do we go with something a little off color, such as "Paint", "The Minister of Defense" or "Rice" as in - white on rice or the "White Shadow" no explanation needed and don't go PC on my a$$.

What say you?

I think we need to stop thinking of Caruso as a "PG." He did well on Booker, and gives 100% effort even against bigger players on switches.

Quote:
Physically, Caruso is very similar to former Grizzlies guard and current Panathinaikos floor general Nick Calathes at 6'5.25 in shoes and 188 pounds with a 6' 6 wingspan. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/article/2017-nba-d-league-elite-mini-camp-recap-and-measurements-analysis-5925/ ©DraftExpress

That's enough size to be a competent defender at SG.

So basically, same height and Caruso with a slightly longer wingspan.

I like how he pissed off Booker. That really pleased me.

I don't like how he got back cut 3 times.

Are you saying we have our own cheaper, whiter, balder version of Patrick Beaverly?

He might be even better than the Somali Pirate because he will embarrass you on the offensive end at least once a game too

Caruso is a key contributor especially with the star guards on western conference teams.

What I like is how Vogel is giving more shine to guys like Caruso because his potential was always there but he didn't have a coach (PUKE) to believe in him. This one does.

Vogel, are you sure he doesn't troll these boards?
