Important piece for this team. I hope after Rondo comes back that he will take minutes of KCP and that this one will be done playing. Caruso is IMO great defender and smart guy. We need him prepared to play every night. KCP is trash.

Caruso is a better player than KCP at this stage.
KCP is more talented.
Caruso plays good defense and hits the open shot. Most important he
doesn't make bonehead plays. Caruso plays smart and within himself.
Would trust Caruso at the end of games more than KCP right now.

You can try, but you can’t dodge the tax man. The Accountant is coming for you.
Man, I'm digging The Accountant/Taxman stuff way more than that lame ass Pope nickname somebody here came up with. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

I like CaruSHOW a lot, I think he does so many little things well. However two things stuck out to me today for his play that I think is why he is not a starting level or high minutes rotation guy. One, he gets beat against a strong guard. Easily. In contrast Avery Bradley is very hard to beat. Van Fleet was having his way with Caruso, as were other Raptor guards. As soon as Bradley came in, it was not easy at all. Caruso needs to work on staying stronger in his stance so that he doesn't have to play on the side of his man, he was giving up the drive too easily. It was as if Caruso knew that he could not stay infront of him so he played him on the side of the ball, trying to funnel him to the defensive anchor (who wasn't there since Howard often moves his feet to switch).
The other thing is the offense, Caruso can not run a NBA level lineup playing another good NBA level lineup as a PG. He has to be the off guard, which is when he is effective. As the point, he is very shaky. I really like how Frank is finding a way to use him and Quinn. Quinn Cook is a lot better at being a NBA level guard on offense than Caruso is. Caruso is more like an off the ball wing. Avery Bradley is a good guy for Caruso to model his game after. If he can get a little stronger like Avery is and try to stay in front of his man, he can get more minutes.

Caruso and Bradley closing the game really improved the perimeter defense.
He has all the tools to really help this team, but his 3pt shot NEEDS to improve for him to really have a significant role for the lakers. His defense is real though and has kept him on the floor and a key part of this teams identity.
