Hart was terrible tonight on defense, omg he was even worse than Kuzma. Made Augustine look like the 2nd coming of Michael Jordan tonight, just pathetic |

Hart is going to be great in the booth but I can't wait for his career to be over SMH. His perimeter defense is nauseating |

Lonzo/Hart/Ingram/Lebron/McGee is going to end up being the lineup one way or another at some point in this season, what are we waiting for.
Kuzma’s game literally speaks “6th man” role. Meanwhile Hart is the perfect 3 and D next to Lebron even with acknowledging today’s game. |
I don’t think Lebron wants to start at the 4 |
If this is true I lose some respect for him. |
It’s true, maybe the FO didn’t discuss it with him or they expected someone like Beasley to be our PF? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Hart's defense is over rated. |

Hart is too smart to be this bad on defense. I honestly don’t understand. In the post he’s good but on the perimeter he’s a walking red carpet. |

Hart is shooting the ball exceptionally just needs to improve his perimeter defense |

He doesn't have the lateral quickness to improve his perimeter defense. |

He bulked up which helped some areas of his game, but hurt a few things as well.
Anyone know how much weight he put on, during the summer? |

It's clear that he's not a SG, no? He's an undersized, switchable SF. Of course, with results like last night's, perhaps he's not so switchable! |

I couldn't believe what I was seeing it looked like a layup drill. |

Defensively, he's a lot like Fisher was: strong, physical, but just too slow laterally to keep up with quick guards. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

He’s also a master of drawing the charge just like fisher. I literally just said this exact same thing to my brother not even 20 minutes ago. |

Yeah, Hart is a much better finisher at the rim, but a lot like Fish in most other ways. A very good role player to have, but shouldn't be counted on to be a defensive stopper on the perimeter. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."

He has no lateral quickness and struggles against small, quick guards. I'm fine as long as he at least puts in the effort defensively but there's a reason he was drafted so late in the first round. |

Was at a family dinner last night with the game playing in the background. Everytime I looked up I saw Hart getting beat to the basket. Very hard to watch as he's one of my favorite Lakers. His perimeter defense was atrocious. |

My opinion about the idea "he has no lateral quickness"
False
He has really bad technique
He's quick, he has good bounce, and he's strong. His problem is technique and not being aware. |

The guy was figuring out how to guard power forwards a couple games ago.
Not surprised he struggled guarding a PG last night.
He'll adjust to his new role. Just gonna take some time. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

I know Ingram looks awkward as heck at the 2 but he's actually better than Hart at perimeter defense and Hart even though he's giving up huge size disadvantages plays great interior defense. Go figure. |

I appreciate his commitment to "tight" defense. But he has to balance that with defending without fouling. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better” |

Could be the ankle. Probably not 100%. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

That, and teams are probably figuring out not to leave him wide open at the arc. Teams scout players as the season goes on. |
