The Lakers will acquiesce to whatever AD wants, and it's no coincidence we signed two good centers for this year. AD doesn't want to play the 5, he said it again while sitting right next to Vogel, and he'll be a free agent next year. So AD at the 4, Lebron at the 3, and Kuz 6th man

Yup. Kuz will be a Load Management Starter when Bron or AD take games off, but will be 6th man the rest of the season.

Kuz’s rep>> Kuz’s game

i don’t see him getting many minutes with this team unless he can improve a lot and drastically outplay the centers(to force AD into the 5) or the swingmen (to get minutes at the 2/3)
James and AD have both forward positions on lock.

Unless they're both playing 48 min per game, there will be minutes for Kuz backing them both up. Then there are the load management games when one or both of them are out.

i can see him easily getting 16pf + 16sf minutes and some minutes closing @4 with AD @5, LB @3

AD made it petty clear that he want the play the 4, so look for prob 30 of his 36 there unless cousins and mcgee are both largely ineffective compared to Kuz. Lebron will take the 3 and 4 and i can see danny green, kcp or dudley fill the at the 3 giving an handful minutes a night.
i’m thinking <30 a night, and somewhere in the mid 20s if he plays if he doesn’t show improvement and the other deliver.

What does Danny Green know, I read on LG that Kuzma is at best a 6th man on this team.

Maybe, but let's look at it objectively.

AD doesn't want to start at center. So either JAV/Boogie start at center.

LBJ is playing "point" but will have to defend forwards.

So you have this already:

C: Jav or Boogie
PF: AD
SF: LBJ.

Where is Kuz starting?

We have no idea what Danny Green knows. If he thinks that Kuzma can be an all star in the West then we are correct to question what he knows.

Isn't Lebron the point guard?

Isn't Lebron the point guard?

To me it's not what you play on offense but who you guard. He isn't guarding other teams' point guards.

It will be the three I listed above, Danny Green, and most likely Avery Bradley.

I think you can pencil Green in as the starting sg as well. Hopefully they are smart enough to have Rondo on the bench. I'd go with Bradley or Caruso as a starter.

Kuz will probably get his shot as a closer.

Davis
Kuz
LBJ
Green
Bradley

Bingo.

Good chance Kuz doesn't start.

But good chance he can close.

(whichever of Bradley/Caruso/Cook/ugh Rondo is playing better)
Green
LBJ
Kuz
AD

That's the closing lineup.

You missed a few puke emojis after your “ugh” before mentioning Rondo. Rondo should basically never play a minute with Lebron on the floor at the same time.

Agree with the rest. I’d much prefer Bradley proving himself and securing that lead guard defender role. That’s the “small ball” lineup I hope we can close games with.

I really hope the major changes he and lethal shooter made to his form work out. The nightmare scenario is that under the stress of real games he has trouble adjusting to the new body mechanics versus the ingrained ones he has used the rest of his life and that it takes him a couple of seasons before he gets comfortable and he suffers a drop in efficiency. We need him to be good this season.

Could also be KCP a and Green instead of our PG guys.

I’m expecting his time with USA basketball will improve his defensive IQ. It’s not effort with Kuz defensively. It’s more about understanding that side of the ball and awareness. Guys usually have big years after playing USA ball. Just hope he can stay healthy throughout the year.

It has been mentioned that LeBron will start at PG, means Kuzma will probably start at SF

Why?

It's about what position you defend. LBJ for sure isn't defending PGs.

Also, AD doesn't want to start at center so he's penciled in at "PF."

I think we will go with something like:

Bradley
Green
LBJ
AD
JAV

to start the season.

LBJ can run the offense but Bradley will guard the opposing PG.

Main reason javale won’t start is spacing. It limits spacing and what lebron and AD can do in PnR. No to mention cousins is just a better all around player. AD is already elite at rolling and finishing so we don’t need redundant skill sets in the starting lineup

Rondo
Kcp
Kuzma
Javale

Is gonna be one hell of a bench though. Well defined roles, nobody stepping on one another’s toes. Spacing is nice. Rondo has some pieces to work with out there. One of lebron, AD, Boogie will be out there with them as well.

Green is a surefire starter.

Kuz has trouble keeping up with SFs.

How is he guarding quicker and smaller guards?

One can improve, we'll see. It's ultimately Vogel's decision anyway.
