Kuz should move to the bench. Not because he deserves it but because he's the only one capable of being a sparkplug off the bench. Hart has completely disappeared offensively and no one else on the bench is a scorer. Coaches should talk Kuz into embracing an OKC James Harden role. Let him own the 2nd unit just for this final playoff push.

Need some disruption and backcourt D as well now that Zo is still nowhere near coming back from injury and KCP could provide some of it.

We should run a 9-man rotation with Bullock / KCP / BI / Bron / McGee (Deandre Jordan) starting and have a 2nd unit of Rondo / Hart / Kuz / Tyson or Mo until Zo comes back.

Kuz historically is not very good coming off the bench and definitely deserves the starter spot but I'm willing to try anything at this point. Desperate times and all.

He was good off the bench last season.

At this point he's not defending any position well. Not fast enough for smalls not strong enough for bigs. Ingram is fortunate to have his length. Otherwise, he'd be in the same boat.

Not the best defender but he never lacks in effort unlike nearly all the vets on this team.

If you give full effort and you’re still terrible....that’s a real problem

I'd rather have a dude who has poor defensive technique but willing to take a charge than someone who's supposedly good defensively but can't be arsed to move his feet.

only agree he could maybe try coming off the bench just because we literally have no one coming in and providing any fire power

there is no point, we don't have enough players that plays better than Kuz on either end.

We need to play kuz, bron, BI, RB 40+ minutes to have a chance, and we're still short one guy.

yeah but were gonna have to play hart and KCp minutes. Better to see if they can be effective starting with lebron out there than coming in off the bench.

i think kuz can fill it up whether starting or coming off the bench. hell still get his minutes.

Yea time for Kuz to come of the bench. We can’t have him and Lebron from the starting 5 being liability on D. Plus, the second team needs lots of help on the offense. I know Hart has been a major disappointment, but we got to see if can start with the starting 5 and ask him to just focus on defense.

Did we forget how dumb of a defensive player Josh Hart is. He will absolutely foul a 3pt shooter at least twice a game, it infuriates me to see this guy guard perimeter players.

KCP should start. We desperately need more athleticism/peskiness in that starting lineup and him and Bullock probably have good chemistry.

Hart is playing on one leg.

22 points on 9/15 shooting. Efficient.

Also his 3 dunks in the 3rd quarter woke us up!

Kuz has 51 made dunks this year compared to only 29 last season and we still have 20+ games left. Really worked on his hops last summer. Next summer, I hope he works on getting stronger and improving his rebounding, defense and also get his 3pt stroke back.

Kuz showing some hops and making a statement to the public.

Nice showing. I like how Kuz and BI are starting to look good taking turns during a game. Before, it was either Kuz or BI but for the last few games, they have been coming on together.

I've been ecstatic about BI's recent stretch of games but Kuz has been quietly having a great month himself:

February - 9 games

20.7 ppg
4.6 reb
2.4 apg
59% TS
37.3%, 19 of 51 3PTs

His best month shooting from 3 this year. Can't find the article anymore but I read somewhere that he tried to emulate Klay's shooting form/speed in the summer which sort of explains the regression in his 3pt shot earlier in the season.

If only he played decent defense, I'd be as optimistic about a few All-Star games in his future as I am with BI.

His lack of effort on the glass and on defense pisses me off. He never puts a body on someone when a shot goes up.

I don't think he lacks effort on defense at all, more of an IQ and technique issue. As for boxing out, he can do a much better job but I wouldn't say never. What he has though is an abysmal rebound rate when he does box out and that I'm guessing, is a strength issue.

Box-outs:

JaVale - 6.1
Chandler - 5.5
Zubac - 4.0
Kuzma - 3.9
Lebron - 2.5
Hart - 1.2
KCP -0.9
Zo - 0.7
BI - 0.5

Seems BI got healed of getting blocked in the paint and Kuzma caught that dummy bug instead.

Kuz simply doesn't have the motor to hustle on defense and rebounding. On top of that, he's a low IQ player. Honestly I've never seen Kuz box anybody out hard or jump up strong to grab a rebound.

This guys defense is a massive liability in late game situations. They kept attacking him and we made no adjustments .
