NOT TO WORRY... The Lakers are going to win at least 45 with the roster AS IS.
Mark my words, 45-37 or better!!! _________________ Rule = win titles

I will believe it when I see it....last season with the whole Bender and KG bogus trades, why should we believe otherwise.
Plus, with those so-called insiders, who are their sources? They must not always be reliable because 99.9% of the time, nothing ever happens. I would have to say, some are not good.

That's every pretentious insider's cop-out response. The vauge "something will happen" remark that never really entails anything other than an easy way out of an otherwise unfounded 'editorial'. The only true insiders are those that work with-in the association, not some shmuck that garners information from internet sources like the rest of us. |

Do you understand the concept of probability? The odds of him being right are 1:2, with odds like that - anybody can play this silly little game. Also take in-to consideration that most of their 'inside information' comes from sources that are readily available to you and me. |

Dude, he came with this information long after Peter Vecey and idiots like him started speculating about it. I dunno where you were during that time, but I clearly remember reading about it on ESPN hours before Lionel posted that information. |

Just a technicality, but just because there are only two outcomes (trade or no trade) does not mean that each outcome is equally probably. Therefore, odds of him being right are not necessarily 1:2. Trades are more often NOT made than made. So if Lionel is correct, it was a much tougher bet than a 50-50 chance.
I don't know much, but I do know that Lionel knows a lot more than I do. So here's hoping that he's correct.
(Edit: In no way do I mean to suggest that Lionel is simply 'guessing' at a trade happening. I happen to believe he has legit sources.)

We've had lots of "insiders" become exposed as fakes.
Most of them were simply terrible liars.
On that premise, logic simply screams that a couple of these guys are
fake and just happen to not be knucklehead enough to get caught.
I have my suspicions, but I also think some of these guys give great
information - or at the very least relate sources honestly (where if the
source is wrong it's not the "insiders" fault.
I've always been one to show respect to those who earned it before I
even set foot on the scene, so I'll do the same and keep my suspicions
to myself as far as mentioning any specific names.
A big thanks to those insiders who are in fact the real deal and continue
to pass along information |

Are the Lakers trading for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or the rights to draft Magic Johnson? You can tell me, I will keep it quiet. _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Exactly. Don't post "who" until the papers have been sent to the league offices and the Lakers give you a "go ahead" to outline the trade. I want that continued line of info to keep coming in. _________________ Stephon Marbury on Kobe: "He's the only person on 'dis earth that can do 'dat. He guards people, like shuts 'em down. I hope that you're right but with this team, I refuse to give any predictions. However, I am more pessimistic because of the inconsistent play of our team and the lack of improvement to our team after teams may adjustments to focus on Kobe. |

well over on CL some "insider" was saying the trade partner was a team from the west. the two names being thrown around the most were KMart and Boozer, although they said emplay had already said it wasn't Boozer. |

I'd much rather have K-Mart than Boozer, although honestly both are
overpriced. |

yea i'd rather have KMart too...but there was one thing i forgot, although i think this is completely false.
someone else said he heard a legit rumor that had booze along with deron williams coming...that would be pretty awesome but i highly doubt it. |

Thanks for the info Lionel, looking forward to details
I just wanted to say a few words to those that insist on lambasting people that offer up information that, admittedly, may or may not be true. I mean who does it hurt if it is not true? so you got your hopes up that some superstar was going to be traded to the lakers and it didn't happen (Oh my god - there is false information on an internet forum, for shame). On the other hand if any of the information is true, then we have all been privy to some inside information before the rest of the world. For that reason alone I love it when we get tidbits from people like Lionel or Emplay and I think I am capable of making my up my own mind whether I believe a rumor is true or not.
So I say to those that may have to their ears to doors of Laker executives keep the intrigue coming. |

Lionel, do you mind telling us who was suppose to be involved in that summer "blockbuster" you reported that never went through? I've always been curious. Thanks. |

I don't mind if we don't make a move, since there may not be a good one available, but I really hope we're looking closely at Melvin Ely, and perhaps Brevin Knight and Melvin Ely. These two guys could really help us, in terms of fitting into two need roles - Ely as post scoring/rebounding 6th man, and Knight as tough leader/playmaker at the point. |

Quite possible, then we get the Spurs or Suns in the first round, and we instantly become a long shot to win more than a game. That's what happens when you don't try to improve your roster, i guess the lakers feel a first round show is enough of an improvement from last year, |
