Not sure anyone can make the claim they no more than Woj when it comes to player movement. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

What sudden turn of events???? |
First there was the "big splash" talks, then Jeannie saying she wants an all-star.
Methinks PG13 through shared agents with DLO/Jules has told them not to pull a Melo and trade assets for him. I would surmise he told them to get the cap situation in order and that he'd come in 2018.
Now, it's "oh we want to be players for 2018."
That's a bit of a 180 IMO. A good one. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Lets the kids develop another year. Maybe dlo or randle make a significant improvement to borderline all star status. Keeps the fanbase engaged. And gives us a real shot at competing sooner rather than later. Its the kind of plan that gives them flexibilty and makes a certain splash. If they can pull it off, adding those two to our young core + Lonzo, it would be Hollywood box office. |

I wonder if Indy was hoping PG would be all nba and not walk away from the extra millions of dollars. And ATL will probably be in the playoffs and the the 1st rounders would be high picks.
But looking back now, maybe they should have taken that deal? |

Just a wild thought, but this could also be a tactic on the lakers side (with or without george approvals) to get his value down, by telling the pacers they are willing to wait... and then just trade Randle + clarkson for him |

If PG13 comes other dominos will fall, emplay mentioned it that getting him will make other moves more easier. |

Depends on what other teams offer right?
If other teams still offer high, Lakers gotta back out and wait for 2018 and hope PG doesn't come.
The initial WOJ quote is deceptive.
Lakers encouraged to keep team in tact.
Encouraged by who? PG's agent? Or encouraged internally? |

Dan Gilbert is the only salty (bleep) that can have his team headed to the finals and still be unhappy about the Lakers signing a freeagent.

IIIII dunnnooo... I think this is a rare misstep by Woj, maybe he should stick to the written word... if you listen to him talking instead of reading the transcript, it's a bit different than what is being implied here. Nobody has come out and told Woj that PG or his people have TOLD the Lakers that he prefers that they don't give up assets to get him, it's just common sense that Paul George is not going to rush from one depleted team to another once he's a free agent and sure, Magic and Rob have a strong belief they can sell the Lakers to PG when he is a free agent, what else is new? |
