You guys think if that was a playoff game, lebron would man up and take Simmons for a stretch?

We should have benched him for Rondo (+1) or Dudley (-2).

We would have beaten them by double digits had we played Dudley instead of Lebron.

Very disappointing performance, hope he can bounce back and start taking over in crunch time instead of being an "turnover prone". He has the talent but is running out of 'killer mentality'. Praying that this is not what we are going to see during playoffs, otherwise we are doomed.
Congratulation for passing Kobe though, it's a hell of an achievement and it shows how impressive his career has been

Haha. Right?

Surprised people still refer to +/- these days.

I’ve been preaching we need an all star wing. Over and over again. Bradley Beal or CP3 (sometimes off ball). But I’ve finally found the line.

Somebody equal to or better than a healthy Caris LeVert. Make that trade happen. And we’re good.

Otherwise enjoy beating up on the bottom 20 something teams in the league and losing to a legit western conference team/MIL/PHI.

It is what it is. There’s a reason why LBJ is 3-6 vs western conference teams in the playoffs.

We’d have to trade rotation players to get him and what we really need is him as an addition to what we have already.

But you’re barking up the right tree.

Perhaps the real GOAT Laker, Kobe Bean Bryant, can talk with Lebron James about being mentally tough and having the killer instinct necessary to beat the best teams out there.

Lebron will wow us all with dominant and enthusiastic play against poor quality teams or good teams with no Finals Potential. But when he's faced with a Finals Potential team, he flounders. Stupid, unforces turnovers. Horrendous 3 point shooting. Subaverage shooting from the field. Constantly whining to the refs, ripping his teammates on the court. Pouting.

Lebron James, for all his brillance, has failed us. Check out is game stats in our losses to the tops teams if you don't believe me. It's true, Lebron James sometimes plays mentally soft. Kobe really needs to monitor and educate him.

Congratulations and respect for his lifetime achievement.

But I’m more concerned with the Laker chapter of his career.

Disappointing losses in big games is starting to get me concerned. I have been surprised and thrilled with James’ improved MVP level play this year but the trends in these losses are starting to look all too similar.

Building a team around James has always had its risks. Having to accept the good with the bad every night is expected. But good teams are able to take advantage of his weaknesses. Disrupt what he does best and exploit his tendency to coast too often. He simply gets outworked.

I’m going to hope like hell there is still a “playoff Lebron” still in there. Because if not this championship or bust season ends in disappointment.

Ya'll can laugh. But I mean. Damn.
-22 last night.
-21 against Boston.

I rarely blame the guy for losses. But it's okay to say. Some nights he just isn't good enough. Having as many turnovers as assists ain't a good look.

There’s a Kobe vs Lebron thread. There’s also a Piss & Moan Thread. Oh, and the Real Goat is Michael Jordan. And did you hear Lebron’s post game, talking about Kobe for 5 minutes straight? It was heart warming as a Lakers fan. But I digress, you’re in the wrong thread.

Agreed. I'm really concerned age has finally caught up with him and he is no longer able to elevate his game when it counts. I guess we will all see for sure come playoff time.

I couldn't have said it better. It's all about the Lakers getting that 17th chip.

I agree with you completely. Hearing LeBron talk like that was a real moment for me. He was very thoughtful and sincere. I often feel like he’s not being real when interviewed. The whole thing was wonderful

Ironically, Kawhi, Paul George, or Jimmy Butler is exactly what we need...

Man Lebron was just saying in his post game interview how he admired Kobe growing up and Kobe went to a basketball camp he was at when he was 15.

And literally mentioned how he used his stories as inspiration. The spirit of Kobe was always live on. But the lost of a great man like that...is beyond words.

This has to have Lebron totally freaked out. He passes Kobe in all time scoring in a 20 point loss, then Kobe dies.

He knows what he's has to do...

He has to bleed purple and gold. He has to be willing to die for this team. Championship or die. Period.

Yes, I'm using the word "die" figuratively.
