Please do not take this the wrong way. I'm not looking to disrespect or start something on a James thread.
But in all honesty, what else would you expect him to say. Talk about how he likes the Lakers but his heart will always be a Cav or Heat. I wouldn't even fault him for an emotional allegiance to his home town team in fact.
The man is a world class PR man. His ability to self promote and manipulate the media rivals his ability to control the court.
James has started the season in incredible MVP fashion. I hope he maintains this level all year. |

If that's all you're saying, it's hard to take this opinion seriously.
Whether you like it or not, LeBron is having an amazing overall season. He's the engine for the Lakers remarkable success.
And if the MVP vote was taken today, he would be in the top three easily
So while I generally refrain from declaring a subjective opinion is right or wrong, in this case the opinion you expressed is clearly wrong |

Sure, it's the type of thing you'd expect any player to say.
But any statement that says I am a cav or heat or a warrior or whatever in my heart is kind of BS to begin with.
Of course, any player is going to feel a special connection to a team he played with a long time or had success with.
But NBA players are mercenaries, who easily go from one team to another and play just as hard. The jersey that they're wearing really doesn't matter. Saying things like I'm a Laker, or Warrior, or a Buck in my heart is just something you do for fans because it's something fans want to hear |

But a player of his caliber will always be measured against the best in the league, and it's hard to argue for LeBron over Doncic as MVP as long as assists are the only metric where he holds a slight advantage while giving up 5 points and 3 boards per game to him. At this point LeBron is not even the best player on his team, let alone in the league. All I'm saying is that if he wants to be considered as the best player in the world, and that is my understanding of his self-perception, he needs to push himself a little more, i.e. catching some boards, sinking some FTs, reducing the TOs. |
What are the thresholds required for best in world consideration? |
For starters, it helps if you can make a strong argument for being the best player on your team. |
You said he needs to catch more boards, sink some FTs, and reduce TOs.
To what numbers? Because if you cannot supply thresholds, then you’ll just say that no matter what the numbers are. |
That Doncic-boy plays the same position and is doing quite well, so as I said earlier, that would perhaps be an adequate measuring stick for LeBron. But you have to consider that Doncic is just a sophomore and not as big as LeBron, so ideally he should do a tad better. |
Doncic also isn't playing with multiple bigs who can gobble up boards, either. Meanwhile, LeBron is playing with AD, JaVale, and Dwight Howard. _________________ “Christ did not die to forgive sinners who go on treasuring anything above seeing and savoring God. I agree. Puzzling definition IMO. I see some damn fine accurate passing and a hard working receiver to earn those assists.
There have been a couple blowouts along the way that I felt James (and Davis) was in a bit too long for my tastes. Up by 20 under 4 mins and James stays in after a timeout to get a few last shots or assists in seems a tad bit "stat padding" to me.
Just saying |

Oh no! Not the dreaded "haters" moniker being invoked....
I hope you realize that some of you bring on the comments yourselves with the over the top James rhetoric. Not those acknowledging James' comment but those that follow chiding the "haters".
Curious what those that worship at the alter of James like to call themselves?
Jamesists? Cult followers? Disciples? I think Minions feels right.
Certainly not Laker fans, that is too broad a group that we all belong to. You are a select few that cling together in your single purpose. Adoration of your own special Gru. |

I think you're wrong about this. I live in Cleveland, and watched Lebron up close his whole career besides Miami days. I think Lebron always wanted to be a Laker. Think about it, he could of went anywhere. He came to a bum "explicit" team with the front office in shambles. LeBron has always liked winners, he showed up to an Indians game wearing a Yankees hat. Cleveland fans felt disrespected lol. Dont get me wrong, Miami and Cleveland has their place, especially Cleveland. But I think LeBron has always loved the Lakers. When he was just beginning to really understand the game, at that age, it was the height of the Kobe and Shaq era. I heard the conviction in his voice he chose to come to L.A. And there is no doubt in my mind he wants to win in a Laker uniform so he can be solidified as the GOAT.
If Laker fans say you're the greatest, it means more. Lakers are global. |

The Mavs' strategy is to box out and try to help Luka rebound the ball when possible, as this is advantageous to their fastbreak. It makes sense, as their only dominant rebounder is Boban, and he only plays 13 minutes per game, when he does play. |
