Having rondo here is not going to help his development. I love Rondo’s game but if Zo isn’t going to get any crunch time minutes in close games this is going to be a wasted season for him.

not a huge Ball fan, but he really needs to get way more minutes and has to play over Rondo if the FO thinks he will be great.

Needs more minutes but Rondo is the better player right now so it is what it is.

Got more minutes in preseason

Might as well trade him if Rondo is the starter

By bringing LeBron in, improving the team ASAP took a higher priority than devoting substantial playing time to Ball for gradual development.

I know he's coming off injury and he's being limited, but lonzo's offensive game looks the same (granted is the first game). He doesn't look for it. Rondo on the other hand started off with some high glass shots.

First game. I get it, but ball's.attempts never exude confidence.

Lonzo needs to be traded to a team that will let him play. The Lakers just not a good fit. He's just to nervous to play for the purple and gold

Zo was still on a minutes restriction tonight, FYI.

He didn't rebound well, which affects his impact by not getting hit-aheads. Only Lebron I think tried to pass to him tonight. A couple guys on this team had tunnel-vision.

It was easy for Magic & Pelinka to move on from Randle and Russell because they didn't draft them.

Magic and Pelinka own the Ball pick, so they might drag their feet about moving on without him.

I'll give him props to turning it on after a awful 1st half. I just wish on his drives he look for contact or dunk then making a finesse layup.

He got his shots swatted way too many times this game for my liking

Honestly Ball just does not look there physically to me. He still has work to do, as does mostly everyone.

Free throws looked good. Thought he got punished by the whistle far too often tonight. Still not seeking contact on drives, hops still aren't there. Passed up an open 3. Played timid, in his own head.

I wanted him to be good but he's not really an NBA player right now. What does he really do that Josh Hart can't do?

Stephenson saw Ball, he just ignored him. My favorite bit between the two tonight was when Ball had to direct Stephenson to rotate to the open man on defense and actually pushed him to the ground. Good times.

Yep. That one shot he got blocked.

Collins did have 6 blocks and he's stinking deceptive.
You wouldn't think he'd be that athletic.

Kuzma had him on the break. Could of boosted his confidence with a lay up. What does
He do? Hog it and get blocked

I know, was an obvious alley-oop. I was pissed.

He’s not being used in the right lineups. Especially playing with the likes of Beasley and Lance.

His confidence was starting to go-up in the 3rd but then got taken out.

Hopefully this is only due to the fact that he missed most of training camp. Who was it that had the mantra that you can't lose your starting line-up spot due to injury?

Lonzo is healthy and his development should be fast tracked and prioritized. Actually all of them, Ingram, Kuz and Hart as well. These are the 4 guys that should close games with Lebron. Let them win it or lose it. Stop taking it slow, down to the wire like Randle. Then you're iffy and 50/50 on someone, and you end up renouncing them. Develop them or trade them. Don't go half azz.

Was it just one? Felt like more after those empty drives at the rim, didn’t want to believe they were all bricks

Ball is being wasted playing with the bench. Every minute he plays with Lance is a waste of playing/developing time.
