Obviously Cousins showed that the trade market for Brook Lopez isn't worth the two firsts they've wanted forever with him. I would have to think any lottery grade player who has legitimate upside would begin to heat up the talks.
So positives for the Lakers...
Sort of punts on signing one of the young guys to a big contract for a year.
Mozgov's 4 years are gone
Nance, Black, Ingram, Deng all can play the 4. There is not a lack in that spot. Actually Deng moving to the 4 might save his contract from being as awful as it currently is.
Lopez is a bigman who can actually shoot from outside... giving the rest of the guys more space to work.
You potentially have Lopez cap number free if PG and another guy actually want to sign here in a few years.
Negatives...
You lose Randle who can fill up a stat sheet, you trade a young for a guy who will be 29 next year. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please
I would be willing to pay you for it. |

It's too much to give up if it's Randle. Lopez would just be a 1-year rental, as I wouldn't want to extend him long-term.
Now, if it's JC/Moz/HOU 1st, I'm in. (I've proposed that deal on at least 2 other threads.) |

No thanks to this trade. But, I would really like to know what value other GMs place on Randle. I have no idea what level of player we could actually land with him as the target. Should be a foregone conclusion that Pelinka will be listening to offers this summer to at least see what the market will bear even if they primarily intend to keep him. |

Only to be paired with a max FA
Blake - Lopez
Or pipe Hayward -Lopez
I really think Magic-Pelinka will make a lot of trade to be instant playoff team... good or not, we'll see. Just hope DLo-BI-Top3pick stay as the core |
