| I love when people have signs that make no sense. Some desperate righty around here had a bunch of lawn signs made they’ve been sticking everywhere with a horrible picture of Biden that says “No Biden. Higher taxes. Less Social Security”. What. |

8 days to go: Biden's lead over Trump is holding, while Clinton's was collapsing at this point

Among a bunch of factors, the James Comey letter "investigating emails on Anthony Weiner's laptop that were potentially related to a probe of Hillary Clinton's use of a private server" had just been published by this point in the 2016 campaign. No such bombshells of that magnitude have come out this year.
Clinton's advantage was down to only about 4 points in the national average 9 days from Election Day 2016. Her advantage had been as high as 7 points with about 21 days to go. Clinton's 45% vote share was low enough that it left Trump with a lot of room in the final week of the campaign to corral voters who favored neither candidate at this point.
All Biden really needs to do right now to win is hold onto the voters that he has. |

| I have zero trust in polls. I truly believe people are under estimate closet Trump voters. they would tell their friends and family the other way, but vote for Trump ultimately. There are a ton of these people out there. |

I trust the polls to an extent. They measure a moment in time. The danger comes in projecting that measure of the moment to predicting actual future results without weighing in everything else. Not a really big problem, expect when it comes with added probabilities like "Biden has an 86%" chance of winning. I just think it gives a false sense of surety that can be problematic.
It's not that polls are wrong, they just aren't exactly right either.

The only change in dynamics that I am worried about now is not some last second scandal, it's the Q3 GDP that will be released on Thursday. Trump will promote the heck out of it, even though there is a projected weakening in Q4. It might persuade some traditional Republicans who are leaning Biden to reevaluate.
Fortunately, tens of millions of people will have voted by Thursday.

Well if you want to worry a bit a B- rated pollster released a poll today showing Trump up 2% in Pennsylvania. Biden was +3 in this poll previously. This poll was done for a conservative organization, but it was done by a decently rated independent pollster. Meanwhile other polls showing a decent Biden lead. Not something to go crazy over, but certainly something to watch with how important Pennsylvania is going to be.

The economy improved in the 3rd quarter, but overall, this year, it has contracted (shrunk) by about 5%.
