Silly people. Panic is only for when Trump wants to talk about caravans of scary socialist-Muslim-BLM-Mexican-MS13-antifas coming to your suburban neighborhood to steal your cars, women and children. Other than that he’s the picture of calm!!!

Andrii Derkach, a Ukrainian lawmaker who met with Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in Kyiv last December to discuss investigating the Biden family was just sanctioned by the US and ID'd as a Russian agent. He is the one who sent packets of "information" on Biden to Devin Nunes and Ron Johnson for use in their "investigation" into Hunter and Joe Biden.

So Trump's personal lawyer was meeting with a known Russian spy to get information on his political rival Biden. And two of the most stupid members of congress are collecting information from this spy and wanted him to testify in their investigations into the Dem. candidate for president.

Collusion.

There is absolutely NO DOUBT that Republicans, in general, take court appointments more seriously than do Democrats as this Trump sales feature demonstrates.

This is all they have to do to get out the vote.

Democrats must beg, plead, knock at doors, work their fannies off, and promise the world--a world that they can't give.

I agree, but it's the nature of the coalition. Democrats have a large and diverse coalition. It is inherently difficult to satisfy all the different interest groups. It's rare that someone like Obama shows up and is adored by all the groups within the party. Republicans are just white people.

Trump is trying to distract from the Woodward fiasco...and the disrespect of the military.

Don't fall for it.

The media will. By Monday we won't be hearing about Woodward or the military anymore.

Woodward officially starts his book tour next week with more interviews, more reveals from the book and more tapes. And I think he's scheduled on 60 Minutes Sunday night.

Fine. A week from Monday we will stop hearing about the Woodward tapes.

Just like we don't hear about mail sorting machines or bountygate etc. anymore. The media these days has attention span. They just move from sound bite to sound bite.

Yes, it is frustrating that no scandal seems to stick for an extended period of time. But it's also probably the main reason why he's so unpopular: there are so many scandals and people are tired of him.

How would you respond to this? I decided to engage one of my family members who posts nothing but memes and disinformation. His alignment is former conservative turned Bernie Bro

Ask him how he will feel when Trump wins and the Supreme Court becomes extreme right for the next 50 years. Or how he feels about his odds of surviving the next pandemic under Trump who has already proved he doesn't care how many will die. And ask him if he believes in climate change and wants to have a planet left for his kids to live on.

his talking point on climate change is "if dems care about climate change then why do they work so hard against nuclear power?"

I've already presented the supreme court debate which he summarily ignored/dismissed on grounds: "the two party system needs to die, maybe Trump (bleep) the supreme court is the catalyst we need"

This is pretty simple. High density areas (cities) skew Democratic. And where there are more people, there is more crime, more homelessness, more need for infrastructure. Regardless if the mayor is Democrat or Republican. Jacksonville, Florida; Fort Worth, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado. All big cities ran by Republicans. All have crime, homelessness, and infrastructure needs.

Blaming Democrats for that stuff is mistaking correlation with causation.

I've been doing the whole ignore thing but this bull (bleep) set me off today. I've always bitten my tongue, trying to make the most charitable interpretations of his POV for my own sanity and out of respect to his wife (my beloved cousin). I'd like to be able to go nuclear and then cut ties but that's simply not an option. The option I have chosen is to go nuclear, but to leave any tie cutting decisions to any relatives who believe that the awkwardness of this dispute, along with its implications, can be avoided if they shun me.

At some point I gave up arguing with people like that. My best friend used to be an uber Bernie Bro and it kinda affected our relationship. But he has seen the light and sees the value of pragmatism.

My Trump-worshiping neighbors have largely stopped communicating with me, and it's okay. I don't have to have them in my life.

Fortunately, we don't have to convince either extreme to win the election.

Another bad take. The planning-to-operation (PTO) times of all nuclear plants ever built have been 10-19 years or more. We don't have that amount of time if he's taking climate change seriously.

Compared to wind, nuclear takes 5 to 17 years longer between planning and operation and produces on average 23 times the emissions per unit electricity generated

I have cousins that I mute primarily during campaign season when they start posting offensive memes. Then I unmute them after a while and hope they stick to posting about their kids, animals and recipes.
