Especially when Ingram actually is creating shots and drawing fouls while Kuzma simply shoots.
It's like comparing Kobe to Klay Thompson... two completely different roles.
Don't get me wrong, I think Kuzma had a nice all around game, and I see him making effort on defense... but he's had a lot of bad games, and doesn't get nearly the same sh*t as Brandon.
Agree with those who are worried that BI will take another step back if his injury persists. It's a shame because he seemed like he had another good start... and was starting to put together some decent games.
Again, I don't get those of you who pick on Ingram when he's played okay recently and the team is winning. If we lost, or he cost us a game, I could understand the venting. But it feels like some of you almost root against him just to be proven right.
In my opinion you should root for a Laker player until they are gone. People who care more about their own agenda are as bad as fantasy league fans who root for their players rather than our team. |
Kuzma's threes (and jump shots in general) are typically within the flow of the offense. He gets open by moving without the ball and then shoots when he gets the ball. Ingram's threes and jump shots in general are more isolation type plays where the ball stops moving and Ingram dribbles to a spot to take a contested shot. That is where my criticism on Ingram comes from. _________________ Darvin Ham is an idiot! |

Because he steps up which Ingram doesn't do as much for whatever reason.
Kuzma took 19 shots this past game, in a game where we needed some to step up as a secondary scorer. Ingram has yet to do that even once this season. |
Most negative comments here are that he takes too many shots... now you are saying he takes too few?
I agree with those here that say Ingram needs to take the open threes.
My only point is that if Kuzma was forced to play point forward, create his own shot... and pass to Ingram (which he doesn't seem to like to do).
Then he might look more awkward, and Ingram might look like the smoother player.
I like both of them... just don't get why Ingram gets most of the criticism. |
I think that folks are saying Kuz fits stylistically with LBJ more.
Kuz finishes off LBJ passes while BI is more of a guy who likes to set his own rhythm via dribble.
Kuz is a bit more dependent on the passing where he's aggressive scoring while BI is less so.
I hate how everything becomes pitting our young guys against each other.
BI/Kuz are such fundamentally different players. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

It's not a coincidence that Kuz has had 2 of his most impressive games without BI.
He gets some of BI's ISOs and can get himself going and start a rhythm. And the ball finds him for open 3s more, cuz there's less stagnant BI ISOs |

Here's my hot take: You didn't post a hot take, rather something you wish would happen and something you would do if you were the coach. You wouldn't bet your money on Ingram not starting either. _________________ “Life is too short. You have to keep it moving.” - Kobe |

He does average 22 ppg when BI is out at ~18 fga. Interesting. |

Interestingly, I don't disagree with anything you have said, but hardly anyone who guards Ingram can contest his jumper. I more worry when he puts in on the floor. |

Agreed, BI is the only playing with any sorts of consistency
Sucks that Kuz, Lonzo, and Ball have been struggling but they all are only second year players unlike BI.
Ingram seems to finally understand how to produce on a consistent level which makes him valuable and a reliable second option. _________________ "Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones." - KB |

I don’t think you understand what a hot take is. Or maybe I don’t. Cause yes I want that to happen but no I wouldn’t bet on it and don’t think it’s likely.

I think Kuz/Lonzo/Hart have adapted to LBJ more fluidly than BI b/c those guys seem to finish shots rather than want to create it like BI does. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Ingram's going to be a stud in 3 years time. |
3 years from today? |

Ingram's contract ends in 2 years, but Lakers would be looking at him this year and next year to see if he's worth extending for more. Ingram will be wanting a huge pay increase. _________________ Tacos |

Knowing this med staff, he'll be out for 2 weeks but won't see him till February. |

Lonzo didn’t miss time. I think they’re moving away from the ultra cautious approach with the team back in contention this year. |

Who is calling BI a "bad guy?"
People are discussing his fit, unless you think LBJ was the wrong guy to add to this team. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Maybe LeBron should go to the bench to free up BI? |

Kuz, Lonzo, and Hart biggest problem is the inability to be consistent in making their shots. They have made up for it in other aspects, but consistency is their biggest draw back. _________________ "Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones." - KB |

Lonzo yes. But if you watch Kuz/Hart they usually make quicker decisions.
BI has fashioned his game more on the "beginning" end of a play where he brings the ball up and wants to set up a play. Less effective it seems (except some decisive drives to the rim) where he's called to finish a shot (via 3 or quick shot). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
