Any evidence of player development will probably get you traded or renounced anyway. I don't think the media realizes how little the Lakers care about player development, so it's not solely Luke's fault. They have a mad scientist type lab in El Segundo and all they think about all day is how to bring in Super Stars. They are not interested in watching these kids grow. That's what Jeannie signed up for when she, figuratively, jumped in bed with Magic.

If thats so why did they balk at Ingram plus 2nd pick for PG13?

People make up their own version of reality to support their narrative.

This is not a defense of Luke, but what does more player development mean other than letting the young guys play more?
For the past couple of summers, we see all the videos of these guys working out with their trainers so it's like they putting in the work to get better. In the preseason, we see the videos of their shooting practices and scrimmages. So what is it that the teams that are good at player development doing that the Lakers' aren't?

Not true at all. I think the Lakers were preparing for our young core to shore up the 2 max players we sign. Obviously if someone like AD becomes a possibility you have to put your offer in the hat. And its not like our FO was actively shopping our players before the whole AD trade demand materialized.
And if our young core played up to expectations (some of this blame is on our lack of a solid development program) instead of completely wetting the bed all season long our FO would be much more inclined to keep everything intact. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi
tell me 3 things Luke is really good at as a coach
Defense and the players like him. Ok I got 2.
players like him? How they didn't show up in Knicks/Cavs game at home or against Indy/ATL on road?
I blame the players for that but to each his own. I think the idea you have to motivate guys who play basketball for a living every night is (bleep) crazy. Call me old school, but I blame players for not showing up. It's your job.

LeBron is getting him fired, too bad. I wish him the best of luck, he'll be coaching up a championship team soon enough. _________________
