I have seen speculation that Luke may not be fired, but may step down at the end of the season to take the UCLA job....and is keeping a close eye on the Arizona job potentially opening. |

I could see Luke "stepping down" if we lose today's game, but I don't see us losing to the Hawks. |

As a UCLA fan, I think that makes sense for both parties. |

I am sure Luke would love to remain an NBA coach, but if there's a lucrative college offer that doesn't involve having to deal with his own management trying to sabotage his chances at success (in addition to of course his own mistakes), then why not jump at that opportunity? |

Did you see all the players waiting for the timeout after Atlanta put up their biggest lead? I understand it was only a minute plus left... but the players instinctively and collectively thought the momentum had to be cooled off and Luke let them play.
Would other coaches have called one? |

If forced to pick from that list, I'd prefer Vogel. |

I like Luke but wow... he is in trouble when he gets back to LA.
I gather Shaw will finish out the season as head coach. |

How anyone can justify him still coaching this team after the break is beyond me.
Unfortunately Jeanie has a crush on him. |

Shouldve fired him after knicks or Cavs loss. What made them think it was going to get any better? |

If I was a betting man, I'd look up the odds of Luke being fired tomorrow morning.
Not that I blame him, but coach is always the scapegoat and that was an absolute travesty. |

just an awful performance by luke and the coaching stuff. completely uninspired.
he coached tonight like he was afraid he's going to get fired. coaching scared is a recipe for disaster. |

I wanted Luke gone after the first week of the season already but nobody listened to me. I've been saying Luke has spent A LOT of time preaching defense yet our team consistently play poor defense even though we have some very good defensive players. That should have been a big red flag. Jeanie is too stupid to see it. She's never had front office NBA experience. When her dad was running the team, she was in charge of administrative duties only. She let her brother run the team for too long and now she's probably gonna let Luke coach out the season and maybe even longer.
This is what I fear most about the future of the Lakers. It's the incompetent owner that keeps on making bad decisions that will keep the team in mediocrity. We're not the Knicks so it is unacceptable to be irrelevant year after year. We have won 16 championships so we should be getting back to winning championships. _________________ LeGoat! LeMazing!
