Call me crazy, but I feel like KCP should be put back at the starting 2 so Hart and Kuz can tear up opposing reserve units. BI at SG is taking him out of his element and I'm getting sick of seeing Lance, Rondo, and KCP on the floor at the same time.

I only watched the 2nd half of the Kings game. KCP played so bad..It is not just he was missing the 3 points attempt, those 3s were so way off. I won't consider him as a shooter anymore. His defense was not bad though

This season, Lance is performing like a top tier 3 and D guy.
Give πŸ‘πŸΎ. Lance πŸ‘πŸΎ. More πŸ‘πŸΎ. Minutes πŸ‘πŸΎ.

Between Ingram and Kuzma, somebody is gonna (bleep) the bed. In the 4th. Give that person's minutes to Lance. Especially if he's rollin.

No. I appreciate that we've gotten lucky thus far and he's shot well, but let's quit while we're ahead because it will come crashing back down to earth sooner rather than later. Give all his possessions to Ingram.

Before we go down a rabbit hole. What is your goal for this season? Maybe we want different things for the team.

Defense has been trending the right direction, with last night being an incredible defensive performance. I can't believe how much Chandler has improved our D, albeit only through two games.

Regular season games? Or playoffs?

I'll make it simple, Lance is bad and I'd rather any of Lonzo/Kuzma/Ingram/Hart/Rondo/KCP get minutes over him.

Even if that causes us to lose more games in the immediate future and/or playoffs?
I'm trying to figure out if your ideal rotation accounts for player performance.

Generally I would say yes, but I just don't like the way Lance plays. We have enough guys to handle the ball, we don't need Lance ISOs and jacking contested long 2s. I understand he's hot (career high eFG%), but it's not going to last and I'd rather have the ball in the hands of Ingram/Rondo/Lonzo or have KCP for shooting (despite his cold start). I don't think Lance is a + defender either.

I don't like the way Curry or Draymond plays. One fishes for calls on 3PT attempts. The other sets (at least) 10 moving screens a game.
But this is a coaching thread. We have to be objective. Follow the stats. Gotta ignore personal preference.

If Ingram and Kuzma are playing well. Leave Lance on the bench. Otherwise, he's our best alternative when you look at 3P%, defensive impact, rebounding % and most importantly defensive rebounding %.

Yup. And start Hart instead of BI.

No. Kuz meshes way better with Lebron and Lonzo even with his D being poor.

Our current starting lineup of Zo, BI, Bron, Kuz, McGee has played 87 minuts together and have a net rating of -9.5

The lineup with Zo, Hart, Bron, Kuz, McGee has played 50 minutes together and is a +8.8.

No other 5 man lineup that's played at least 20 minutes has a better net rating.

It's not a big enough sample size to look at for Zo, Hart, BI, LeBron, and McGee, but I do feel it'll be a better defensive and rebounding line up. Once BI becomes a consistent scorer, he'll be really legit.

Uh, ok. I'm going to check out now. Good luck with your Lance take, I don't think it's going to age well.

Lakers should just practice boxing out, passing and screens. No shooting until they figure out how to do the other stuff.

It's not about personal preference. That was my point.
Playing players who are effective normally ages well.
It's not like I'm saying, play Lance more minutes even if he's playing badly in a given game.

This is some of the worst coaching I've seen from him tonight and that says a lot.

1) What kind of lineup is a lineup where you need Lance Stephenson to bail you out?

2) Call a timeout. You don't have the resume, system, players and experience to attempt Phil Jackson type tactics

3) Rondo pretty much owns him.

Does Walton do anything during time outs? Looks like he just stands there not saying anything.
