That's because our front court situation is that bad.
Mihm is okay but both Kwame and Cook can not really be starters.
We all know why.
Turiaf on another hand can be a 2way PF for the Lakers. I really think us Laker fans are not even aware of how much we're getting with Turiaf.
He"ll tart by playing garbage minutes but in due time Phil will make him a starter.
Turiaf > Kwame and Cook. _________________ Agent 62 |

I watched a summer league game last year and Turiaf was by far the best big man on the floor. Bynum didn't look very good, and Douthit(edit: not Kwame) was just average. Turiaf got the crowd in the game. He even got a standing ovation. He's that type of player. So much energy it's insane. Think Mark Madsen's fan appeal, combined with the skills of a young Brian Grant, that's the Turiaf I saw. _________________ =======================

I hope you guys are right. I sincerely hope so. Mihm is playing fine at center, its the 1 and the 4 that's killing us. The sad thing is, after downgrading a lot of talent, I think we might be better off with Odom at the 4 and Caron at the 3. When everyone was healthy last year, we were 7th seed. |

I believe that prediction!
I saw Turiaf at summer league 3 times, and believe me - dude is gonna be a stud. He's that high energy, junk yard dog, that this team is missing.
I can't wait to see him back on the court! He's FUN to watch. |

i agree. Lakers need a PF who is willing to just throw his body in there. Meaning take charges,do the dirty work. How many times have seen the Pressure on defense, like last night. We get within 42-41 they break the press, and Kwame just sits there and looks at the guy. 3 point play.
Kwame is ok with his 1 on 1 defense, but absolutely horrible when it comes to help defense. He just lets the guy score. Mason can get by Kobe,Kwame will just look at Mason. HEY HOW YOU DOIN. Alonzo mourning,Marcus Camby type guys make a huge diference. Kwame has no awareness |

It might be hard to learn the triangle well enough to start by the end of the season. I do think Ronny can contribute. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

I heard in practice that Sasha drew a charge on that cardboard cutout... Kwame bricked several layups over it and fumbled a couple passes for turnovers... and Lamar never posted it up once. |

Ronny had more energy than most of the players in Charlotte. Too bad he wasn't ready to play yet...... _________________ "I appreciate all those who have supported me. Thank you for believing in me. My family and I are going to need your support and prayers now more than ever." Kobe |

Kwame airballs layups. That's what I don't understand. I am happy for Turiaf but you have to admit that its sad for the Lakers season to hinge on a guy who just had open heart surgery. |

That's gold man.
But I don't think Phil will play him much. Ronny just had open heart surgery and they won't throw him in the deep end of the pool. It's just to risky. |

I am praying that Turiaf will be the next Brian Grant (in his prime of course). He will make an excellent backup to Bosh. _________________ The great Laker Center Tradition continues.....Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Gasol, AD....Gasol. |

I hate to do this, but wasn't Von supposed to be a starter too. Summer league is just that. Turiaf has a ways to go to get minutes, let alone be a starter |

Unfortnately, it's a fair statement, but PJax has played similar players consistent minutes in their rookie year.
Jason Caffey 10MPG
Dickey Simpkins 10MPG
Corie Blount 10MPG
Stacy King 22MPG
Right now the Lakers are not on pace to win 44 games, so PJax will have to start tinkering with his lineup and put the best group on the floor. |

He will when his alternatives are Kwame and Cookie. Kwame needs to return all that money we're paying him and contemplate joining the military. Maybe they can straighten his uninspired ass out. Cook would be a decent shooter off the bench if we had all the other pieces we need. But, who really needs a 2 in a 4's body.. |

I think my wife knows more about the triangle than Kwame just from sitting next to me watching Lakers games. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"
