Lets send Odom/Slava to NY for David Lee, and Hardaway.
Not only do we get a great young post player, but we get tons of cap relief....
that way we can deal, and sign without the fear of going over the "2007 plan" |

don't like it... that is essentially giving Odom away, which I don't think the Lakers should do. If you trade Odom, you either have to get a legit 2nd option/all-star (i.e. Paul Pierce), or multiple good young players. So perhaps if we got Lee along with Robinson or Ariza... or if we got Frye... _________________ -

Remember LO will be making 14mil by the end of his contract. So ideally getting a solid contributer is the GOAL, but getting rid of that bloated salary should be considered _________________ Lakers Tickets |

The lakers are saving odom for a sign and trade in 2007 or block buster deal.
Whether that happens or not is up for debate. Thats the lakers goal and these wack trades have no chance and are not even being considered.
Stop with these lame trade ideas. |

I still dont get why we did'nt draft in Ariza in the 2nd round a couple years ago.....Oh well thats a long list of why we did'nt do this,or we did'nt do that....
We must get way more for odom.....It's always poor Odom that is being dealt to all four corners...... |

Since Odom has a max contract, Isiah would be all over this one
Larry Brown would also do this trade in a heartbeat.
Agree with the above, we can get a lot more if we're trading LO. |

My preferances in a Lamar trade:
1. Young talent on their rookie contracts
2. expiring contracts
3. lottery pick(s) in 2007 draft.
I was kind of hoping to trade for Jalen at the deadline next season, and get one of those high 1st round picks. I guess there will be other expiring K's out there though. The thought of dumping Lamar's contract and doubling our cap space that year just sounds too enticing to me, along with a lottery pick to pair up with Bynum in our future dynasty. A solid core of players in their primes and a stockpile of young talent. That's the way to go. Lamar is a good player (although steeply overpaid), just a bad fit on this team. |

I've been proposing a Mo Taylor and a choice from Lee, Woods, Robinson, or Ariza for Odom (the native NYer and a huge Brown favorite).
Taylor is a perfect offensive PF in the triangle and his $9.75 MIL comes off the books after next year. Penny does nothing for us because we still can't spend any $ because of the Grant contract.
This gives us over $20 mil plus in cap room after '07. A proven scorer from the PF spot and a good young player who fills a need.
Odom is a nice player but a bad fit, can't shoot, and he's NEVER played in a structured system before. |

Agreed Bounty - many posters seem to gleefully overlook Lamar's salary and his failure to justify it. |

KG should be the target of a trade for Odom. KG is all that Lamar could ever hope to be and more. Yet, Lamar does contribute in unexpected ways. He passes like a guard. He rebounds like a PF. He's a hybrid player. _________________ "Darkness cannot drive out darkness. Only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that." ~~Martin Luther King Jr.~~ |

After our recent three game losing streak with no Lamar as initiator and Kobe being double (or triple) teamed at every play? Hell no, Odom's value just went up just by him not playing. |
