I was watching some Philly games from a year or two back, and man this guy is good when he is healthy. He can knock down the midrange J but more importantly, his D is more than solid. I watched him shut down Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker.
It might not be a bad idea to have him be the sixth man so he can lead our laking defense |

Mckie would've been a nice idea back in 2001. It's been 5 years already. _________________ "Now, if life is coffee, then the jobs, money & position in society are the cups. I think he can stay in front of his man still, something smush has not been able to do, and I think he is a guy that Kobe trusts to pass for open shots
We are scoring enough points to win an NBA game, the problem is the other teams are scoring way too much, especially when we always let some no-name come of the bench and torch us game after game |

The fact is he certainly DID NOT help when he was available, but...
Maybe he will light a fire under Smush!!!
Smush's game has (especially defense which is what Mckie is good at) deteriated ever since Mckie has been out.
Just a coincidence... Maybe... Or must maybe Mckie inspires defense in practice.
Hopefully this will be the case as the entire roster has been suffering on the defensive end for some time now. _________________ Rule = win titles

the problem is that we don't need scoring, he won't help to much in that department unless he has open shots, we need to stop peoploe from driving right in the lane for a layup
How many points in the paint did the hornets score last night? |

True, I'm not a big fan of Smush's defense. He isn't doing as good a job as he was in the beginning of the season. |

Well McKie would really be helpful right now because he can bring the ball upcourt and would free Kobe of this responsibility. But he's really been a disappointment this year, let's see if he will get healthy enough to play this year... |

Mckie is on a paid vacation right now. How predictable was it that the dude was going to get hurt? Back to Back years mid level to Vlade and Mckie. OUCH. |

Get ready for next year Mitchel will offer John Bender the full MLE, with a player option for 2007. _________________ The great Laker Center Tradition continues.....Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, Gasol, AD....Gasol. |

If McKie comes back (big if), even if he's still able to stay in front of his man and hit open shots, he won't help that much. He's a role player at best, and this team needs a serious infusion of talent if they're going to get any better.
The amount of points we're scoring is decieving. I actually think our offense is a bigger problem than our defense (although our defense is also a problem). Kobe is the only scoring threat, and other teams are able to double and triple him all night knowing that no one else on this team will hurt them. To be a good team you need to be strong and balanced at both ends, not just on defense. Our real need right now is a 2nd scoring threat, preferably a PF, not a 90-year-old vet who was never more than a solid role player. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

I believe McKie already is collecting his permanent disability checks from the social security service -- HE IS DONE! _________________ A proud member of LakersGround.net for over 10 years [since April 28, 2001] |

McKie is done, the guy is going to be like Vlade, even if he gets back onto the court what can you expect from an old guy coming off injury? This is the second year in a row where the MLE signing just goes down and drain and we got NOTHING. Wonder which over the hill, washed up Mitch got his eyes on this coming summer. _________________ Ringo "You retired too?"

id cosign as well. Problem is.. When was he NOT hurt?
started training camp with a bad hammy, tried to nurse it along then tears his quad tendon. Then in practice had to be carried off of the floor....
What sucks about the whole thing is this was more likely to happen than him playing alot of games.

All of last year. Check his 2004-2005 stats. Tell me again how much
we miss him.
Don't forget the word was he was the only guy on the team picking up
on the triangle worse than Von Wafer. From a guy who had a
chance to start for us, and in an initiating role. That's saying something
to me. |
