Yeah, Upshaw is far, far, far away from being an NBA player.

He is definitely a project player at this point. Hopefully, in time, he pans out.

Nobody thought he was ready to go, just that it feels more secure to let him develop down there on a Lakers contract in case he gets it sooner rather than later

Hell I am thinking that we should send Russell, Clarkson, Nance Jr. and poor Tarik Black down to the D-League to get them away from our cancer disaster coach.

Brown has a skill-set that the Lakers are sorely missing. This kid can help the team and will eventually be given a chance.

I see AB's season going much like Clarkson's did last year. First half spent in the d-league and in the bench, then sometime in January or so they will give him MWP's minutes. Hopefully he breaks out the same way Clarkson did too!

AB3 has the maturity and the upside to contribute. Hopefully he keeps improving and earns a decent shot at some PT at the next level.

If he progresses like JC did we will have a gem on our hands.

I think Lakers recalled Brown. He was sitting behind the bench @ the Philly game.

Let's hope he gets actual playing time.

Definitely will check that game out!

I still think he has role-player to potential stop-gap starting small forward potential.

It would appear the Lakers did recall Brown. He wasn't listed for the game.

So Upshaw can't even get minutes now on the D-League team?

He's averaging 2 blocks in just 16mpg but he can't see the floor?

upshaw is garbage.that's a fact.he is never gonna make it in the NBA.why are people still expecting big things from this guy? have you ever seen him play.he is trash.he's putting up scrub numbers in the d-league what else do you need to understand the fact that he's just not good.
on the other hand i really want to see a.brown play.he can be a good role player for us in the future.

Have you seen him play? Watch some of the D-League games he's played in. He gets bodied around by smaller centers. While he gets his 2 blocks mostly, he's always lost out there. Anthony Brown on the other hand is different. He's in control and in the flow of things.

He needs a lot of work. Physically and mentally he needs to mature. But so did Whiteside, and look at him now.

The physical and athletic talent is undeniable, as are the flashes of real skill. He just needs time to work on the rest of his game to get to the point that he can contribute without being a liability on the floor.

Mentally he really needs help. He has the physical tools and can be developed; but mentally, right now he is shot.

but yet some people here were upset that upshaw was cut.

at some point you gotta ask yourself.. why is nobody else interested lol. just one of those funny things that happens when a player who has somewhat of a similar game to one that has a breakout season is in the draft or a free agent lol.

i still think upshaw has potential.. but i don't think he's ready. he's probably a few years away from being ready too.

anyways.. anthony brown is going to be a nice, nice player methinks.

i still think earl clark needs to be on an nba roster. i love ryan kelly.. but i'd be all for cutting ryan kelly and giving earl clark another try. very versatile player. i remember him playing well under d'antoni for a while before 'hitting a wall' .. then he went to play for mike brown who stifles people lol.

Malcolm Thomas is looking like the one that we need to keep track of right now. Not that we really need another PF, but it looks like he's finally starting to put his game together. 43% from 3 and 2.8 bpg. Has put up some big rebounding games too. I liked him coming out of San Diego, but like Upshaw, he had some holes in his game that he needed to work on.

MT is definitely one of the best players in the D-League.
