One doesn't need half court instincts on day one in every position. Johnson's the better pick for the Lakers. Fits with Randle, who does have the half court scoring game. Add either Afflalo or Wes Matthews, and there's positions 2-3-4 sewn up for five years plus, on the cheap. |

If we are drafting a SF I take Winslow over Johnson without hesitation. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I'd say if you want a pure scorer and a more natural guy for shooting guard, Winslow would be the better choice. But then I'd take either of this Summer's Portland FA's and happy instead. Gotta find one experienced players somewhere.
JW is too small among modern small forwards today and if one is burning a top ten (top five ?) draft pick for the SF role, don't go smaller than average and defenitely don't go real small. Jabari Parker, Durant, LeBron, Kawhi, Wiggins, and Paul George - these are the small forwards who Winslow can't outplay night in and night out for the next five years. He couldn't handle Carmelo. Why go there . |

Yeah I'm starting to say I'd pick Winslow over Johnson too. He doesn't have the 'size' that Johnson has, but he has everything else. |

I rather R.J Hunter or Rashad Vaugh with Houston's pick. The homerism in me would whispers Levert. I predicted Darrius Morris and thought he be a good fit few years ago. But no way would I take him top 5 or over Stanley Johnson... _________________ True Laker fan from the state of Michigan! Just because a player isn't utilized as a scorer in college doesn't mean he has no offensive game. It just happens that Stanley is a great defender and his team needs him in that role. That shows a lot of character to me. To be able to adapt in certain situations. I personally think he will be a great two way player. I would not be upset at all if the Lakers drafted him with their top pick.
What I really want to happen is for the Lakers to shop their top pick over to the Sixers to see if we can grab Embiid and their pick via Miami.
I'll smile. |
