I think it's time to give this kid solid minutes at both guard positions. Once Young returns, I hope he and X will take most of Wes's minutes (would be better if Young could start but Wes will somehow still manage to start) at the SF spot.
I hope Clarkson can get regular minutes in the high teens, even low 20s, especially when/if our team is blown out by the 3rd quarter. Randle obviously was our big pick up but I think if Clarkson can really use this season as a free learning experience we will be all the better for it. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

No one cracked a fat on this team that cost big bikkies. Most of us watched the game drinking with the flies and I'm in fair suck of the sav! But we need to give it a burl, or hit the turps.

I want to see what he can do but he's quickly showed his game has major limitations. If I have to watch him a lot of minutes, I expect the team isn't doing well at all, probably even getting blown out. I expect to get a lot done around the house this season because I don't plan to watch a lot of blowout basketball unless for some strange reason, the Lakers happen to be ahead.

So have Lin, Price, Wes. Clarkson hasn't gotten a full shot yet so what's there to lose? I was hoping Lin would work out but now it seems he's a 1 year rental. Just give the kid reps, see if there is something there. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Given how utter crap we are, there's absolutely nothing to lose by maximizing the exposure of guys we need to evaluate... so i agree. Davis should become a starter and Henry get major mins as well. |

Yup.
Davis may be worth keeping at the right price.
We have Clarkson for cheap, but now's about the best time to just let him learn IMO. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Agreed. The kid has talent and this is a perfect opportunity to give him minutes. Let him get his bumps and bruises this year so that we get a legit combo guard next season. |

I think he's the PG of the future, has all the physical tools to be a good PG. As fans, sometimes we want players to be great immediately but it takes time. From the limited amount of playing time, he's already shown that he can play defense and is a good 3pt spot up shooter. I would rather develop Clarkson then spend near max on a PG. |

He's an intriguing prospect but I highly doubt he will sway the FO in not pursuing a real NBA level PG (who can also play with Kobe for 1-2 years). _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

What's crazy is that Clarkson's only getting play time because Ellington is out... Before that he wasn't getting any minutes on the floor.
He should definately play 22 - 28 minutes a game. |

Clarkson playing = house money. The kid gets to the line. 6 FTs in what, 20 minutes or so? Aggressiveness is what's lacking from Price, Ellington, Wes, etc. Young/Clarkson, pretty brash and aggressive players, for better or worse. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Clarkson should start for LAL. Surprise the opponents with fast break points. This season's aim seems to be a race to bottom, so might as well give the kid exposure. |

Clarkson and Randle have great chemistry, both compliment eachother on the court. Clarkson ability to play off the ball is a huge plus. Assuming we draft a C next year, Randle will be playing a lot of point forward so it's important that we have players that can shoot with range. |

All I'm saying is give Clarkson minutes and experience. We can later determine if he's a true future piece to the franchise going forward.
It's WAY too soon to speculate on how he affects 2015 free agency. To me he's a nice combo guard to have. Whether he proves he's a starter, etc., that's the point, we need more minutes for him . _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I agree, Clarkson should get regular minutes (about 20 or so) to help develop him. It would be nice if he was a regular contributor next year. The goal this year should be to develop Clarkson/Davis etc and get a top 3 pick. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

Clarkson is going to be really good. Not an all star because they're are so many great PG's in the west but a consistent PG that plays hard on both ends of the floor. I think he can be 16/7/4 PG in a year or two which is really good as a 3rd or 4th option. Playing alongside Randle and possibly Okafor will get him a lot of open looks. |

I would love to join in this aspiration, but he just hasn't gotten enough PT to come to that conclusion. Is he the kind of player who can score in spurts, but over a 35mpg span he's less effective? Could he maintain the high FT rate? I think before we can effectively postulate, he needs to play. And he needs to just grab minutes from Price, Wes, X, and even Lin. We literally have nothing to lose. Clarkson won't change the tide significantly either in terms of W-L, but at least we get to know. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I don't think Clarkson is going to be great or anything... he has very, very clear limitations. But he can perhaps develop into a specialist and the Lakers should get a feel for him asap. Best time is now when we have nothing to lose. |

I can't think of a good comparison for him at this point. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

There aren't because he's an unknown... but he needs to model himself around guys like Bruce Bowen, Raja Bell and Shane Battier. Clarkson needs to focus on playing great D and having a reliable 3 point shot. |

Orlando Magic Courtney Lee, in terms of style. As for how good or bad he will be, it depends on his work ethic. _________________ "It's just a job. Grass grows, birds fly, waves pound the sand. I beat people up."-The Greatest |

I agree at this point what is there to lose, give this kid some burn and let him display his talents. |

That's the exact person I was thinking of too. Better handles than Lee, but Lee was a much better defender at this point too.
If we got a CLee in the 2nd round, that would be great. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
