I thought it would be Dallas but seems they are going to try to extend Porky so they may not have the cap space.

I hope it's the Lakers.

Me too but the FO isn't too bright. Plus they've boxed themselves in with promises of all-stars

I would like that too but we know that isn't happening.

So where else? Doesn't seem like Dallas and doubt he returns to the Pels either.

Why do you want Julius back, knowing he'd be a poor fit playing with Lebron? He is not an off-ball player. He doesn't shoot well from the outside and needs the ball to be effective. I like him, but not for this team.

Small ball 5. Rebounder, toughness. Ironically, shoots 3s better than BI on higher 3PAs per game too.

He was also a beast in the P&R last year and that is something this team really could have used with a ton of guys who were good at handling the ball in a P&R

Watching Montrez Harrell repeatedly destroy JaVale and anyone else guarding, I couldn't help but think of Jules.

Well I hate BI shooting 3's too. But again, how does his style of play work with Lebron and Lonzo? He is not a catch and shoot guy. He needs to handle the ball to set up his shots.

I'm more interested in him as a small ball 5. In the games that I've watched the Pels, he's not necessarily standing there dribbling for 15 seconds and ISOing.

Ahhh Randle.

The moment the Lakers went downhill. Trading in a rising beast for an ancient stat padder. I hope he comes back. He should be that 3rd guy we pay 20 mil for.

Agreed.

If not I hope he winds up on the nets where can flourish

I hated the decision to let Jules (and DLO) go, but did they let go of Jules for LBJ or for a 2 max plan?

Seems the latter. In theory, at the time, Jules was let go for PG13, but Magic and Co. were too dense to realize the Mintz/CAA counterplay going on as a result of how they treated DLO/Jules.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happened with randle

PG announces trade demand.

DLO trade which annoys Mintz

Mintz retaliates by being cooperative with the nba for tampering investigations.

Magic is fined as a result, which annoys Pelinka

Pelinka retaliates by mistreating randle and showing he was never going to be part of the laker's long term plans, which annoys Mintz.

Mintz retaliates by not giving a meeting with PG, which obviously would annoy Pelinka

Pelinka retaliates by releasing randle at a time where most of the cap space is dried up from other teams, forcing randle to sign the best deal he could at the time.

Bridges are burnt and the rest is history.

It's two maxes. Lakers could have Dlo, Randle, and still get Bron.

Not to mention, lots of quality assets to play with.

By the time we let Randle go, PG had already announced he was staying in OKC

I think we are in MUCH better shape had we kept JR and not signed LBJ. But at the time, I was happy with the decision. Some things just don't work out how you think they will.

There were ways to keep LBJ and Jules. I think they would have been a wrecking crew combo together.

A $20mil/yr with 2nd yr team option might have done it, we just won't have Rondo/KCP

That's what I thought the plan was too. But Jules wasn't a "big name" so Magic didn't want him. I agree that LBJ and Jules would have been great alongside everyone else. What could have been.
