Yes, Westbrook is quick and powerful, he can kill anybody when penetrating.
We got killed by Dragic and Bledsoe, and Westbrook is something else. And there is no one in the paint to avoid easy lay-ups. |

I was thinking about just force feeding gasol all night, but that might be horrible for his already diminished trade value |

i'm preparing mentally for a massacre by OKC to the lakers tonight...not going to be a pretty sight....and i'm being realistic.
kobe guarding westbrook is as big a mismatch there is right now. kobe will do his best but once westbrook gets around kobe all hell is lost. |

at this point I'd be satisfied if we get out of the game with no new injuries.
let the end of the bench (kelly) get some burn. let sacre play 35+ min.

This game will be over by the 1st quarter.... and hopefully the last time we see Gasol and MDA being part of this Organization. |

Keys to win this game (IMO):
* Start Kobe but NOT on Westbrook
* Start Henry, Young, Hill, and Pau
* Play the bench for most of the game
* Switch out Hill early to keep him out of foul trouble
* Get Kobe the ball early in the post and cut to the basket
* Press OKC's guards around the 3 pt. line and play the passing lanes
* Hope for a win!

Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
Tonight is a homecoming game for Xavier Henry, who went to Putnam City HS just a few miles outside of downtown Oklahoma City. _________________ Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,it's learning how to dance in the rain.... |

Wasn't sure where to post this, but looking for responses, so figured would post it here. Anyways, here is what I see transpiring this summer, going into next year. Most likely, I see the lakers getting Melo, resigning Wes Johnson (who I envision playing the Lamar Odom role in the offense), Meeks, keeping farmer, and bringing back Phil Jackson. Pau is going to sign at a reduced cost once Jackson gets on board, bringing back the Triangle. Obviously, if Pau is playing so poorly due to substantial regression, and not his role in the offense, that may change things. But if part of Pau's continued struggles is due in part to the offense, I think Phil, Mitch and the gang will recognize this and decide to go this direction.
A collection of Kobe, Pau, Melo, Wes Johnson, Farmer, Meeks, and Phil Jackson as coach would make the Lakers a contender going into next season IMO. This really is the only way I see us competing for a title within the next 2 years while Kobe is still on the books. I am not a fanboy, this is not some dream situation, however improbable it may seem. What is everyones thoughts on this? |

The average sportsbook line is -12.5 for OKC.

No...No...No!
No more Pau!
Phil is a pipedream.
I hope we retain Swaggy P in addition to Wes and Farmar. Still not sure about X. Need to see more games. |

The team has to be less Kobe reliant. He's playing PG tonight. How will he handle that? Again, we're having buzzards luck, can't kill nothing and won't nothing die. I don't understand why it took so long to diagnose Steve's elbow injury. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Kobe will give him some space and force him to shot mid range shots... That's all Kobe can do in about last 3 years. He can do pretty good 1 on 1 defense against guys that dribbles a lot with his long arms, but Westbrook is a guy that just goes by you with full speed, especially after "perfect" pick from Perkins and goes right at your/over your tallest defender with no hesitation. That means a lot of easy baskets and a lot of free throws/foul troubles. Add Durant with "decent" shooting night and we are *peep-ed* We need to let Westbrook to shot wide open mid range shots and Durant to be at low % whole game to be able to compete with them... Sad but true... |

Mike Trudell @LakersReporter
Scott Brooks on OKC approach: "We're just gonna play our game. Our game is pressure defense ... try to get easy (transition) baskets."
Brooks said there's no doubt LAL bring out the best in his players, whom he said like going against an elite franchise, esp. w/Kobe.
D'Antoni on how he wants Gasol/Hill to play w/in offense: "Our bigs are urged every day to put themselves in every play...it's up to them." _________________ Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass,it's learning how to dance in the rain.... |

A coach who says what he wants done but no instructions on how to get it done.....typical MikeDamtonio. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
