Portland looks like a different team this year. They seem like they've finally figured it out, and it's clicked for them. One point in our favor is that our energy and defense is generally, much, much better at home, but I'm not sure it's enough to counter just how great a year Aldridge and the rest of the Blazers are having. |
Aldridge still is shooting only 45%. A career 49%, but of course against us, he goes over 60%. |

Good point. Like the Lakers, one of their big problems last season was depth, but they seem to finally have some now. |

(Portland Laker hate at full force)
Your Portland Trail Blazers land in Los Angeles tonight to take on the Lakers and their league-leading bench unit at the Staples Center.
In case you needed some encouragement -- you probably don't -- to get the vitriol flowing against the Lakers, there's almost no shortage of ammunition. How about Kobe Bryant, at the age of 35, coming off a serious injury and as a shell of his former self defensively, signing a two-year extension with the Lakers that will maintain his desired stance as the highest-paid player in the league?
Even though Bryant's new deal completely dampens his team's ability to make a true splash in free-agency in the foreseeable future, the Los Angeles fanbase is so jaded by his selfish actions both on and off the court that they're not outraged -- in fact, his attitude toward "winning" and "being the best" apparently justifies his inability to take a real paycut for the sake of the team.

Ya, I live in Oregon and know the hate here for the Lakers 1st hand. Lakers games are blacked out on NBA league pass, so I have to watch the Blazers telecast with announcer Mike Rice, who utterly hates Kobe and all that is the Lakers. For a team that hasn't seen a title since 1977, at least I can laugh freely. |

Does Snapper Jones still do commentary for Blazer games? That guy was as biased against the Lakers as someone could be. |

He was key in the fourth on the boards and he was one of the guys scrapping defensively down the stretch. He had those two infuriating possessions where he didn't contest Jennings and gave up two layups, but he woke himself up after that and was very much a part of the Lakers' comeback win. |

Sheesh, I forgot about this game. Hopefully this is the Kobe we get back, and we reintegrate him well. Can't wait to see him back on the court in a real game. |

And he had the best +/- (+3) in the starting lineup. But some people only want to look at the negative. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

the +/- rating is pretty much meaningless. At one stretch in the 2008 season i remember people mentioning luke walton was averaging a +/- of over 12 a game |

Blazers should probably win this game - We have won mostly against bad teams lately, and GSW had some injuries.
With that said, I'm not going to fawn over how good the Blazers are - They had a good start, and will obviously cool down. I see them in the same light as I see the Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves - Teams who had hot starts, who aren't as good as their record, especially a week or two ago. |

The Lakers, had a hard time beating the bad teams the last couple of years, so why can't this current team beat bad teams, not even the good teams beat bad teams consistently.
this team gets no credit what so ever. |

I think we are missing some guy too. Some dude with a ridiculous name like some sort of beef . . . I can't quite recall . . . But hey, I'm sure that what's his name isn't that important to our squad. |

On topic, I think if we can control their sharpshooters its a win for us. They shoot the three at a better percentage than us which is hard to believe. |

Portland's starting five will give us fits, their guards will be in attack mode all night. They also have a good bench.
In order for us to win the Bench Mob will have to step up in a big way once again. |

Wow, are you guys seriously that sensitive? The start of our schedule, we played an absolutely brutal schedule (hardest in the league, at one point). We got roughed up. The last 6 or 7 games we played much easier teams, and we won. Those are just the facts, and anyone with a rational mind would agree. Kind of annoying when someone gives a rational (obvious, in this case) argument, and people are too butt hurt to see any other way than their own. |
