Ummmm Kobe couldn't do anything. They went with the hack a Dwight. What do you want from Kobe? Ridiculous statemants by you and James Worthy. Just silly and dumb. This was all on Dwight and D'Antoni.

Kobe had some forced balls, but he did that on our won game too.

Overall, kobe is not the reason we lost tonight though he did not play well tonight.

PostPosted: Sun Dec 02, 2012 9:05 pm    Post subject: Team Loss

This was a perfect example of a team loss.

I know Kobe is untouchable on here, and yes he's my favorite player of all-time, but his defense (and team defense) was subpar tonight.

Dwight's effort was subpar, as was his shooting (including FT shooting).

The defense effort by most players was crap, and D'Antoni just let it continue by not using timeouts and not subbing players that could bring some defensive energy.

Gasol gets beat off the dribble, and he has a 2" vertical right now so he's not blocking shots. The guy needs to be benched until he feels better.

I like D'Antoni, but his coaching was crap tonight. I still believe Bickerstaff does a better job of in-game coaching (I know that isn't the popular opinion, but it is mine). D'Antoni doesn't use timeouts to correct unacceptable behavior. His rotations are absolute crap, and he's burying Jordan Hill on the bench for no reason other than his personal bias.

If we weren't going to use Hill, why sign him to a new contract? We should just trade him before he loses all his value (due to being buried on the bench).

The sad thing is Hill brings a tremendous amount of energy off the bench and could have been a huge lift for the Lakers for a team that desperately needed energy.

Ebanks (who is garbage) gets minutes over Meeks? Who knows what Meeks could have brought to the game considering he never got in a rhythm.

It's not the end of the world, and I'm sure we'll bounce back, but I'm really disappointed with this team right now (and that includes D'Antoni).

GO LAKERS

Kobe's D really blows.. he just gives up

lol idiot all those threes except for redick's have been in Duhon's face

..

exactly what bleep game are u guys watching

Remember guys when Kobe blows a defensive assignment, its someone else's fault

Nice try. Kobe left the 3rd quarter with the lakers up 4. He came back in the game in the 4th with the lakers down 5.

And came back in when we were up 6 and now we're down 10. Well thought out point sir!

and guess who have scored?

Vucevic - Dwight's man
Nelson - Duhon's man
Afflalo - Mwp's man
Big Baby (earlier) - Pau's guy

Kobe's man, Redick did make one three down the stretch but it's nothing compared to 4 more of them and a couple of mid-range j's and 3 inside baskets, all in a 4 min stretch..

Ever heard of switching on defense? If Kobe is on Nelson, and Nelson scores, I guess that's Duhon's fault right? Apparently it is to your logic

At least he can admit a fault. According to you Kobe's never done anything wrong.

No idea what you're talking about honestly.

Alright then. Tell me something Kobe did wrong. I'll time you.

6 minutes later nothing.

The search continues.

the problem is he has zero respect for our PG's, maybe with good reason. duhon is basically a ghost when he's on the floor, so it's all kobe running pick and pops or calling his own number. bad offense.

It's true. I knew then that we would lose, when it was apparent which version of the Lakers decided to show up.

It's his job to make substitution when like he said he can see the lull coming. Bring in Hill for energy. Another thing is that if teams are gonna hack a Dwight you need to foul hard on those layups. Not dirty but good hard fouls to make them earn it.

No reference to defense on both statements, only offense just in case.

D'Antoni should take a leave of absence! Let interim Bernie Bickerstaff coach this team until he had a losing record!

This team is too unpredictable..or should I say predictable..when nobody could buy a shot and play defense It's boiled down to Kobe ball and when we lose we blame Kobe. The problem again is the rotation, the lack of effort and defense. Lack of Jordan hill really hurts, he would given much more energy and enthusiasm on both ends. It's surprising how Lakers went 4-1 under an interim coach and stuck at .500 now that we got a coach and a system. Again Nash can only do much. This team isn't not dedicated on winning. Not to mention becoming a championship team. We should just tank the season if we gonna play like this. It's unacceptable for this team to b .500 at 17 games in and head on a 8/9 game road trip and probly gonna embarrass themselves on the way.

Ironic that he used to get solid minutes and have a good +/-.

They even talked about playing Jamison at the 3 to keep up his minutes. Now all of a sudden D'Antoni comes on board and Hill (like tonight) gets 0 minutes.

Also ironic that we signed Hill to a multi-year contract, and the 36 year old Jamison is under a 1-year contract.

I get that Jamison is a stretch 4, and I like the guy, but burying Hill on the bench is unacceptable (especially when we gave minutes to freaking Ebanks).

Yeah Mike D said he is competing for time with Pau and Howard. Hard to win that one.

Hill wasn't used last time Mike had him.

How is that Hill got got time on the floor before (and Bickerstaff also said he was backing up Pau and Dwight)?

I think D'Antoni's explanation is complete 100% crap, and we really could have used Hill's energy tonight. Having said that, I guess D'Antoni can have whatever stupid (non-team oriented) biases he wants. He should just work with Kupie and make sure we trade Hill ASAP before he loses his value (by being buried on the bench).
