Quote: | Lakers reach out to Ramon Sessions at start of free agency
The Lakers began a dialogue with the representative for point guard Ramon Sessions shortly after free agency began Saturday night, though a contract agreement wasn't reached.
Sessions became an unrestricted free agent last week after declining a one-year player option for $4.55 million. |

Quote: | Lakers reach out to Jordan Hill
Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak was a busy man Saturday night when NBA free agency officially began at 9 p.m. PT.
Kupchak did not wait long before inquiring about Jordan Hill, according to his agent, Kevin Bradbury.
"It was a very good discussion," Bradbury said. |

Quote: | Lakers reach out to Devin Ebanks about re-signing him
More specifics will be ironed out in days to come, but the Lakers reached out to Devin Ebanks' representive to express interest in re-signing the small forward. Ebanks' agent, David Bauman, told The Times on Saturday night that General Manager Mitch Kupchak reached out to him via text message shortly after 9 p.m., which marked the beginning of free agency. Bauman said Kupchak reiterated the same sentiments in a follow-up phone conversation. |

Quote: | Lakers First Choice For Jose Calderon?
Ever since the Raptors entered the conversation as a possible destination for Steve Nash, the unspoken assumption has been that Jose Calderon, long the Raptors' fixture at point guard, would be receiving the amnesty axe in order to clear enough cap room. With this latest development from ESPN's Marc Stein, we have good reason to root for all of the above occur, as Stein reports that Calderon's first choice should he clear the waiver wire process would be to join his fellow Spanish countryman Pau Gasol in Los Angeles. |

Calderon is a decent pickup, we could get him for cheap.

How about trade Bynum for Dwight, keep Pau, sign Calderon and Lewis? _________________ Win. |

I believe if Calderon did come here for cheap, part of the discount would be reuniting with Pau. I wonder if some of the dots connectted would look like this:
Sessions/Calderon
Kobe/Ebanks
Artest/Eyegna
Gasol/Hill
Bynum
plus the draft picks - maybe Barnes not re-signed and Blake traded |

Calderon is possibly the worst defensive PG in the league. |

The Lakers will talk to everyone and names like Calderon are bound to come up. That doesn't mean they're interested in him. |

According to the report, the Lakers would offer center Andrew Bynum to the Magic, while power forward Pau Gasol will likely not be included as the Magic’s desire to accumulate a younger roster. |

Still have to realize guys, just yesterday Dwight stated he wanted to go to the Nets. If he is forced by the Magic to come here......he leaves next year unless he is forced to sign an extension (if that is possible). I don't want any player who does NOT want to be a Laker!!!!
Keep Bynum unless they trade him to the Lakers for Gasol.....clears cap space for a 1 year rental. |

If the Nets cap themselves out - which re-signing Deron, Lopez and Wallace will do - never mind trading for JJ or trying to improve via trade - they won't be in position to sign Howard.
Howard is not going to Nets unless he is a FA now. That's why he's filing the complaint or get the PA to do so. Once the Nets end is dead, then Howard has to choose stay in ORL or go elsewhere. If that spot is the Lakers, he comes.
In March he was still in the hopes that they would either trade him to Nets this summer or he'd do something with ORL. Now that's no longer the place. |

He won't be forced here cause we won't take him.
We also won't give up Gasol for nothing when we could get some young pieces to add depth. _________________ Win. |

So is Steve Nash, but sometimes a guy's ability to get in the paint, pass the ball and hit wide open shots with regularity FAR outweighs his defensive shortcomings, especially at a position where no one guy in the league ever realistically stops other PGs.
Plus, Jose is crafty. |

Michael Beasley? I tried to find photos showing the tattooed writing on the hands, since that's uncommon. Beasley has some on the other side of the hands, but he certainly could've added more writing since the photo I found was taken. |

Judging by the articles Wolf posted, the Lakers are doing a lot of reaching out. |
