Forgive me, if I am misreading this but that article suggests that the deal could be Pau for O.J. Mayo? If Rudy Gay isn't a part of the deal, I would have zero interest (if I were Mitch or Jimmy). _________________ Lakers, today. Lakers, tomorrow. Lakers, forever.

Yes. You are reading right. It's suggesting OJ Mayo would be the main piece coming back.

In order to match salaries, Memphis would have to throw in alot of other pieces. They'd then have 4 guys making over $12 million per year.

Thanks for the piece, Wolf. I want Deron for Pau, but understand that NJ (or Brooklyn, if that's what they are now) may not agree.
Hmm Pau back to Memphis? It sounds interesting but I wonder what Memphis would do with Zach Randolph. I dont think the Lakers would want him back. But lets say they do I would ask for OJ Mayo or Mike Conley. Preferably Conley.

If Pau would go to Memphis, Gay would have to come back. However, the Lakers are trying to get younger, stay competitive, AND LOWER SALARY. Gay is a max player as well as Pau. We would need to trade Artest to them as well and take back a cheaper ending contract. Not sure if Mayo is in his last year or what he makes. Or maybe a pick??
They could sure use Gay's athleticism on Durant though. And Mayo on Westbrook.
