Brandon Roy?
Will Brandon Roy make his NBA comeback as a Laker? Because no one ever comes to LA unless they are becoming a Laker.
Guess my 80 year old aunt must be meeting with the Lakers. Along with several thousand other Laker hopefuls.
How tall is she? We need a backup big..... _________________ "You cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you"

Can I ask for some help? Maybe I am technologically challenged, but I would like to get a translation of this interview with Ettore Messina. I am trying the google translation webpage, but I just get a message saying it is translating and nothing happens. Could someone point me to a better tool, or post a translation?

In the square box on the left side put in the web site link of the article. Then click on the language you want it translated to. Hope it helps. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
A source close to Los Angeles Lakers special assistant/consultant Ettore Messina says he will leave the franchise and the NBA to coach once again overseas.
Messina will re-join CSKA Moscow on a multi-year deal, which has yet to be announced.
Ettore joined Coach Mike Brown’s staff this past season to get a taste of the NBA. Messina is one of the most successful international coaches in history. He previously won two Euroleague titles with CSKA.
It was a difficult year for Messina, the Lakers and nearly every coaching staff in the league as they were forced to rush through the season with no real training camp or substantial time for regular practice. Brown and Messina had built a relationship through the years and Mike was the major proponent for adding Ettore to LA’s staff.
Ultimately Messina is a head coach and while he may eventually return as one to the NBA, he’ll join the CSKA club he left in 2009.
NBA Rumors: Lakers, Bulls and Knicks Reportedly Interested in Ray Allen
Despite being severely limited during the playoffs due to a right ankle injury, the Boston Celtics star will almost certainly want to continue his NBA playing career. The first step is getting healthy, which Allen will reportedly accomplish with the aid of surgery scheduled for this Wednesday.
Even with his injuries and ascending age, the veteran shooting guard will not have any shortage of suitors this offseason. Sports Illustrated senior writer Ian Thomsen listed the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies as potential candidates for his services.
After being traded by the Los Angeles Lakers for forward Jordan Hill before the NBA trade deadline back in March, five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher was thought to be seriously considering retirement after agreeing to a buyout with the Houston Rockets. Even though Fisher’s future was up in the air after the buyout, the veteran point guard received a few intriguing offers from title contenders around the league to sign as a backup.
It was reported yesterday by LakersNation.com that Fisher was considering signing with the eventual Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat, but ultimately decided to join the Oklahoma City Thunder for a bigger role off the bench and a $2.3 million deal for the rest of the season. Not only was Fisher given an opportunity to play for arguably the best team in the Western Conference, but he would also get a legitimate shot to win his sixth NBA title before calling it a career.
Basketball superstar Kobe Bryant and his wife have reportedly called off their divorce.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard is said to be working on a reconciliation with Vanessa Bryant, who cited irreconcilable differences when she filed for divorce in Orange County, Calif., in December 2011.
Mitch Kupchak has already gone on the record saying the Lakers want Ramon Sessions back for next season. Ramon Sessions himself has said he’d like to be back in L.A. for the 2012-13 campaign. So why then hasn’t Sessions exercised his $4.5-million option for next season? Better yet why are there rumors floating around of the Lake Show looking for an upgrade at point guard?
You don’t need to be an NBA insider to know what is going on here.
The Charlotte Bobcats have narrowed their list of head coaching candidates to Jerry Sloan, Brian Shaw and Quin Snyder, according to league sources.
After going through an initial interview with Charlotte executives Rod Higgins and Rich Cho, each of the three candidates will meet with Bobcats owner Michael Jordan within the next week or so.
Sloan, who was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009, is the only candidate with prior head coaching experience. The 70-year-old Sloan, who resigned abruptly during his 23rd season with the Utah Jazz last year, is eager to return to the sidelines and regards the Bobcats' job as a great opportunity to teach young players, according to sources.
Sloan led the Jazz to two NBA Finals appearances but lost both times to Jordan's Chicago Bulls.
Shaw, an assistant with the Indiana Pacers, is perhaps the most highly coveted assistant coach in the league. He is also a top candidate for the Orlando Magic coaching job. Snyder is an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers.

It seems clear that Pau will be the key piece that will be moved. The rockets, nets and sixers seem to be teams thta have what the lakers need.
Rockets-- some combination of pau blake ... for lowry, scola maybe martin/lee or a pick?
Sixers-- iguodola + brand? holiday? for pau blake
Nets-- Deron Williams for Pau Blake... plus id love to get Farmar back too.
from the rockets wed ged a starting caliber pg and if martin is thrown in too wed get an sctual sg back up for kobe.
sixers we get a starting defensive minded sf. amnesty ron artest. and then would have to try and sign beasely and nash via free agency or further trades
from the nets wed get our future. a pairing of d will and bynum would surely produce a few more rings with the right pieces and the right COACH.

None of those teams will trade those players for the trash package of Pau/Blake. More than likely we will have to have a three or four team deal and it will take some of our younger players to do so. I'm convinced Blake will be a Laker for the remainder of his contract.... But hey, I have seen stranger things before, like Walton/Kapono for Eyenga/Sessions!
