Should be more of a defensive-oriented game. Good little tuneup before Christmas.

Watched a fair amount of the Bucks-Jazz game last night 'cause it was on TV (I live in Wisconsin). Bogut's rounding into form! It seems like the Bucks really have trouble getting the ball into the post at times, though, and settle for a lot of jumpers. When they miss those (which happens quite a bit), their offense looks saad. They've been shooting a lot better lately, though. Their win vs. the Mavs and near-loss vs. the Spurs (grr, Ginobli travels) were fun games to watch.

That said, there's a lot of bad injury news for the Bucks:

Quote:
Jennings underwent a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his injured left foot Sunday before returning to the Bucks' training facility. The team was awaiting the results but Jennings was not scheduled to travel when the Bucks left for Portland to begin a three-game West Coast swing.

"We're just waiting on the results to see what they say," Jennings said. "I haven't really missed a game in my whole career at all.

"Being the first time where somebody is saying, 'You can't play or we don't want you to play,' that's really tough for me. I've always played through whatever and just fight it out."

...

"I never want to get hurt; I never want to be the one that has to miss games," Jennings said. "I tried to get the Brett Favre streak going. I tried to play as long as I can without missing a game.

"Unfortunately it's got to come to an end."

Jennings started all 82 regular-season games for the Bucks as a rookie and also started in all seven games in the Eastern Conference playoffs against Atlanta. He started the first 25 games this season.

Forward Corey Maggette also will not travel as the Bucks head west after falling and hitting his head during the game against Utah and suffering concussive symptoms.

He is the second Bucks player this season to suffer from concussive symptoms - Carlos Delfino remains out of the lineup after sustaining a concussion in the second game of the season at Minnesota. Delfino has been out since Nov. 6 and has missed a total of 18 games.

If Maggette and Jennings don't play, it could be pretty rough for the Bucks.

Jennings has a fractured foot and will undergo surgery. Out four to six weeks.

Quote:

Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings (6-1, 169) will undergo surgery this afternoon to repair a fracture of the fifth metatarsal of his left foot, General Manager John Hammond announced today.

Jennings, 21, was examined by Bucks orthopaedic physician Dr. Michael Gordon following Saturday’s game vs. Utah and an MRI procedure on Sunday confirmed the diagnosis.

Jennings is expected to miss four to six weeks of action and will be re-evaluated throughout his recovery.

Lakers need to get a streak going... lets go 6-0.. Break Miami's streak, break the Spurs streak and silence anyone thinking the Spurs are the team to beat in the West!!!!

If only we don't have a tendency to play down to the competition. I say if the starters play disinterested, then let loose the Killer B's early, long and often.

The danger of this game is that the team will be thinking of the Heat and this is how we lose easy ones

They got rolled by Portland by 20+ yesterday, Lakers need to take and early lead and not let them have any hope.

Lakers should win by double digits.
Bynum has an all around game in front of the home crowd.

Yes- first game back is almost like last game of roadtrip as the guys are usually pretty tired still.

Also a bit of a trap game with Miami coming up and some of the Bucks hurt.

That would be nice. Bench will again be key tonight, as starters will still be tired after trip. Bench + crowd= energy boost.
